Oh Be Joyful Church (OBJC) seeks to fill a part-time female residency position responsible for assisting the male youth resident counterpart in all aspects of student ministries but specifically with the middle school and high school girls in Crested Butte. The candidate will work with both middle and high school programs (Grade 6-12).

OBJC provides a supportive and experiential learning environment for a candidate wanting to pursue a position in youth ministry. This 12-month residency position will work with our youth in building, fostering, and discipling a team of volunteer leaders, and regular participation as a part of OBJC staff in engaging with the overall mission and efforts of the church.

An average week includes outreach, discipleship, adventure, and behind-the-scenes planning. Other aspects include building relationships within the youth community, creating healthy and safe spaces in which youth can grow all while pursuing our mission of introducing the youth of Crested Butte to Jesus and helping them mature spiritually. Our staff goes above and beyond for the good of the church and humbly seeks out creative ways to engage and improve the various ministries of Oh Be Joyful.

Who we are looking for:
• Committed believer in Jesus who takes responsibility for his/her spiritual life
• Someone who loves both middle and high schoolers and can relate to the unique needs of teenagers in today’s culture and specifically in Crested Butte
• Excellent social skills and experience that will allow him/her to be effective in the unique CB community
• Strong sense of calling to explore full time ministry
• Self-starting ability
• Proven ability to commit
• Transportation is helpful, but not required
• Clear background check
• Driver’s License and Cell Phone
• Pursuing higher education
• Strong references
• Full alignment with OBJC Statement of Faith

What you will be doing:
• Assist the Pastor and youth resident counterpart in running all aspects of the OBJC youth program including weekly meetings and staff meetings
• Focus on relational ministry
• Sunday morning church participation and Sunday evening “RISE”/Youth Group participation
• Weekly youth meetings and staff meeting on Thursday as necessary
• Prepare and lead weekly bible studies with the middle and high school girls
• Work with Young Life leadership and attend one Club/Wyldlife a week
• Keep yourself and your team accountable to the Vulnerable People Policy of OBJC and Staff Character Covenant
• Manage of all social media platforms for the youth programs

Pay and Commitment:
• Part-time paid position
• Average of 10-15 hours per week
• Pay dependent upon experience
