Job Title: Youth Outreach Intern

Location: The Bridge Church at Bear Creek

Terms: Hourly, Approximately 15 hours per week, $18-20 per hour based on experience

About the Underground Teen Center: The Underground Teen Center is a ministry of The Bridge Church at Bear Creek. The mission of the Underground Teen Center is to be a safe space for inviting Bear Creek High School students to take the next step towards making much of Jesus. We leverage our culture of hospitality to open our facilities for regular lunch and after-school activities.

About the Role: The purpose of The Underground Teen Center Internship is to develop key competencies in the development and maintenance of an outreach-based youth program. This role serves the Youth Outreach Coordinator in the daily operations of the teen center. This ensures that our larger mission of making much of Jesus by making disciples who know, live, and advance the Gospel is being pursued. This role reports to the Youth Outreach Coordinator. Working hours are only available during school days. The internship will last from the date of hire until the end of a regular semester.

Responsibilities:

• Attend two to three lunch programs per week
  • Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 10:45A – 12:45P
  • Wednesday: 10:00A – 12:30P
  • Thursday: 11:30A – 2:00P
• Attend two to three after-school programs per week
  • Monday-Tuesday, Friday: 2:20P-4:30P
  • Wednesday: 1:45-4:30P
  • Thursday: 3:20-4:30P
• Create and maintain a safe and hospitable environment for BCHS Students.
• Increase meaningful ‘next steps’ taken by students. Examples include, but are not limited to attending:
  • Art Classes
  • Guitar Lessons
  • Board Game Nights
  • Youth Group
• Serve the Youth Outreach Coordinator the execute single events like:
  • Pizza & Ice Cream Parties
  • Holiday Parties
• Meet with the Youth Director and Student Outreach Coordinator once per week

Qualifications:

• Currently or previously enrolled in a theological or youth-oriented academic program
• Alignment with the The Bridge Church’s Statement of Faith.
