Philosophy of our YOUTH Ministry
-
Our youth ministry is principally about living in relationship with God. First and foremost, the Youth Minister and all the team members have the responsibility to live in obedience to our Lord daily. When they gather with the youth, they are instruments of the Holy Spirit to motivate, to facilitate, and to model discovering and obeying God as His disciples.
-
For decades, an event-based model of ministry has been the mainstay of churches. We believe Jesus’ strategy for raising up disciples and disciple makers needs to become the foundation.
-
We see our youth ministry as an opportunity to mentor our youth to become disciples that make disciples. We expect our youth to not just know the gospel, but to be able to share it and bring others to Christ.
-
We are committed to servant leadership. This means that the Youth Minister and all team members are seeking to serve and to facilitate the development of our youth’s spiritual gifts.
-
We seek to integrate youth ministry into all phases of church life, to create a culture that is intentionally intergenerational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries and serving according to their gifts, and growing in relationships with members of all ages.

What it’s Like to Live in Baton Rouge, LA:
Baton Rouge is the capital of Louisiana, full of cultural history. Much of the community is connected to LSU in some way, providing many opportunities for jobs, secondary education, and entertainment. Also, you have not seen a football game until you see one in Death Valley! We have great coffee shops, recreation, and, of course, incredible food! Crawfish boils in the Spring and Gumbo in the Winter. Plus, New Orleans is only an hour away. Baton Rouge is a small city with the amenities of much larger metropolitan areas, including an airport, museums, Costco, a large indoor shopping mall, and concert venues. Homes are reasonably priced, and numerous educational options exist, including great homeschool groups, private schools, public magnet schools, and charter schools. For entertainment, we have one of the nation’s top escape rooms (rated #13), Top Golf, Swamp Tours, and LSU Sporting events.
