JOB DESCRIPTION
FORMATIONAL GROWTH
- Engage in intentional spiritual formation through weekly mentorship with the Youth and Family Pastor.
- Participate in daily personal worship, prayer, and Scripture reflection.
- Attend staff devotions and theological training sessions to deepen understanding of Anglican distinctives and ministry practices.
- Reflect and grow in ministry experiences through guided journaling or group discussions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Learning & Support:
- Assist in adapting Sunday school curriculum for children (preK-5th grade) under staff guidance.
- Shadow and support volunteer recruitment, training, and appreciation efforts.
- Help prepare materials for Sunday classes, events, and family resources (e.g., activity kits, flyers).
- Observe and adhere to safety protocols and church policies for children’s ministries.
Leadership & Teaching:
- Lead Sunday morning children’s classes.
- Facilitate games, crafts, or storytelling during summer events and programs.
- Assist in organizing and leading youth-oriented events (e.g., picnic, service project, BBQ).
- Collaborate with staff to create a summer devotional or activity guide for families.
- Facilitate a book or Bible study throughout the summer.
Team Collaboration:
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute ideas for family ministry initiatives.
- Assist with Sunday service setup/teardown and greet families during services.
- Build relationships with parents, volunteers, youth and children through intentional interactions.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
Qualifications:
- Must be committed to growing in your walk with Christ.
- Have a day of rest (no church work) one day a week.
- Meet with God each day to personally worship, pray and be in Scripture.
- Invest in healthy relationships with family and friends.
- Commit to a discipleship/mentoring relationship in which you are challenged to grow in your walk with Christ and your work in His Church.
- Must be one-year removed from high school graduation
- Passion for youth/family ministry and alignment with Trinity’s mission.
- Willingness to learn Anglican distinctives.
- Preferred:
- Experience working with children and youth (e.g., camp counselor, tutoring).
- Basic understanding of child development principles.
- Interest or desire to serve the church in youth and family roles in the future
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Hours: 15-20 hours per week (Flexible scheduling, including Sundays).
● Pay: $18 per hour
