Position Description / Our Father Lutheran Church (October 2025)

POSITION PRIMARY PURPOSE
This position exists to produce gospel-centered excellence in worship production through sound, lighting and video to Help Ordinary People Know and Share Extraordinary Life in Christ.


DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Mix live audio at the Sunday “tenfortyfive” worship service.
Attend weekly practices of the “tenfortyfive” worship band as needed, typically Tuesdays from 6pm-8pm.
Attend other musical practices as requested by the Director of Worship.
Maintain and troubleshoot Audio, Video and Lighting (AVL) for all worship services (Saturdays and Sundays) and other events as needed.
Make recommendations to the Director of Worship for equipment maintenance and upgrades.
Recruit and provide training and supervision of sound and video volunteers as needed.
Perform other related duties as requested or as technology changes dictate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Lives a life worth imitating, adhering to our statement of faith and guidelines and policies.
Strong time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer, word processing and data processing skills (PC or Mac).
Operational knowledge of office equipment and programs such as Planning Center and Pro Presenter and typical AVL workflows.
Consistent availability on the weekends and occasional weekday evenings.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and carry it up to 50 feet.
High school diploma or equivalent.

PREFERRED SKILLS, STRENGTHS AND CHARACTER
Comprehensive knowledge of the use and implementation of audio, video, and lighting equipment.
Reside in the Denver-metro area.
Comfort working in a Christian worship and education environment.
Experience in working in a team atmosphere, including with volunteers.
Exhibit responsible, self-motivated, personable and professional demeanor and appearance.
Exceptional organization skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Possess a strong work ethic and a drive for production excellence.
Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication with guests, members, volunteers and staff.

Attention to detail is critical possessing high levels of observation.
Active member of Our Father Lutheran Church, regular in worship and Grow in Faith ministries.

POSITION IMPACTS TO MINISTRY

The worship experience is enhanced through the proper operation of the sound, lighting and projection equipment and through exceptional teamwork with staff and volunteers.
The Director of Worship is appropriately supported in the preparation and execution of worship services, as are all pastors and worship leaders.
Adequate communication between musicians, performers, directors, volunteers and ministry staff is essential for thorough preparation and excellence in performances.
All sound, lighting, projection and related equipment is maintained in proper working order for all practices, worship services and other events. Recommendations for replacement or upgraded equipment are expected.

COMMITMENT, COMPENS ATION AND BENEFITS

The starting compensation ranges between $420 and $460 per week, approximately 9-10 hours per week, depending on qualifications, experience, and tenure with the Church.

This position is not eligible for health, retirement and disability benefits.
Paid Personal Time Off (PTO) is available for this position.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

This role reports to the Director of Worship.

Other roles that report directly to this position are sound/projection volunteers.

Other positions this role works closely with are Director of Worship, Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, Contemporary Worship Leader and Worship Administrative Assistant.

 

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICAITON
Regular part-time, hourly non-exempt.

Employment is subject to the policies outlined in the Our Father Lutheran Church (OFLC) Personnel Handbook, a copy of which will be furnished, along with a satisfactorily completed background screening. Further, you agree to abide by OFLCs Statement of Faith and will continue to do so while under the employ of OFLC. You also acknowledge that your employment is on an at-will basis, meaning that your employment may be terminated at any time for any reason and at the church’s sole discretion.
