About the Worship Pastor*

Positional Expectations: The Worship Pastor leads and directs the Worship Ministry of Arise Church Denver. The Worship Pastor creates Sunday services and a culture that welcomes the unchurched while leading the church into passionate worship as we follow Jesus together.

The Why: We are created to glorify God, so the Worship Pastor creates a culture that leads people to encounter God and passionately worship him.

*At Arise, we license people to be pastors if they meet certain criteria. We would be open to hiring a pastoral-level or a directorial-level staff person. Both levels are open to men and women.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. DIRECT THE WORSHIP MINISTRY (WM) of Arise Church

   1. Coordinate with the Lead Pastor (LP) to craft engaging Sunday morning experiences.

   2. Strive to make the Sunday experience warm and welcoming.

   3. Actively recruit, train, and motivate a volunteer team to passionately lead our congregation into worship in fresh and creative ways.

   4. Run rehearsals and coach musicians.

   5. Lead, plan, and manage the weekly worship services, special events, and “big days” (Easter, Christmas, Every Nation Sunday).

   6. Oversee the Production of the Sunday morning service, online stream, and other events at Arise.

   7. Prepare for Communion Sundays.

   8. Champion the WM and our Core Value of Passionate Worship.

2. MANAGE THE WM OF ARISE CHURCH

   1. Oversee budgets.

   2. Ensure all necessary background checks are performed for volunteers.

   3. Keep WM equipment organized.

   4. Manage the WM calendar in relation to the entire church’s calendar.

3. SHEPHERD THE FLOCK AS A PASTOR

   1. Come alongside the LP and the Associate Pastor to assist with shepherding responsibilities (counseling, visitation, funerals, etc.).

   2. Make yourself available on Sundays to direct people, answer questions, pray, and counsel people.

   3. Be a “gas pedal” to the LP’s vision–making ideas into reality through execution and management.

4. BE A TEAM PLAYER

   1. Jump in to help with all-hands-on-deck events (Christmas Eve, Easter, Kids Camp, etc.).

   2. Perform all other duties as assigned by the LP.

• Ability to direct other vocalists and musicians

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

• Follower of Jesus

  • Growing in love for God and his people

  • Committed to developing a personal relationship with Jesus

• Member of Arise Church Denver, or willingness to become one.

  • Attends services weekly, participates in a community group, serves somewhere, tithes generously, and maintains integrity.

Salary and benefits  

$75,000-100,000 cash salary per year (depending on experience), plus benefits.
