Worship Leader 

Supervisor: Lead Pastor

Compensation: $1800 – $2000 / month

Status: Part Time 15-20 hours / week

Schedule: Semi-flex

• Sundays: 7:30 am – 12:30 pm
• Weekly staff meeting
• Weekly call/meeting with Lead Pastor
• Availability for communication via text, emails, and phone calls throughout the week

Position Summary: 

The Worship Leader is responsible for cultivating the culture of worship at WCI, ensuring that the environment and atmosphere are conducive to worship and spiritual growth of the congregation. This person will lead a team of volunteers to provide meaningful bilingual (English and Spanish) worship experiences on Sunday morning gatherings and special events. The Worship Leader oversees all the aspects of the AVL department. 

The Worship Leader is a mature follower of Jesus who is committed to his or her personal growth and is willing to work with humility and integrity with others and under the supervision of the Lead Pastor. The Worship Leader is expected to adhere to and be an ambassador of the overall values, culture, mission, and vision of WCI. This person is willing to serve in a multicultural setting.

Responsibilities: 

• Sunday Worship Gathering
  • Plan and organize music for Sunday gatherings.
  • Coordination of musicians and volunteers.
  • Plan accordingly to include other singers/worship leaders in the worship leading rotation while remaining the main worship leader on stage. For example, including other singers to lead part of the set. 
  • Selection and preparation of music for the team, including charts and digital media (mp3’s).
  • Lead team in prayer, team building and worship, as well as in rehearsal.
  • Manage the song database.
  • Coordinate all the details related to lyrics, projection, translation, and musical equipment with the AVL team before Sunday.
• Coordinate and schedule additional worship leaders to cover full Sundays as needed, including during periods of leave such as vacations or sick days.
• Management of music and AVL equipment.
• Work closely with any other teams in planning and preparing for church services or other church events.
• Responsible for all technical and aesthetic aspects of worship and coordinating volunteers who serve in that capacity.
• Work in partnership with the Lead Pastor to plan, implement and evaluate all the aspects related to the worship ministry, including worship culture, worship calendar, service formats, message series, and special programs.
• Work with the Lead Pastor to develop and administer an annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church.
• Be an active and engaged member of WCI staff. This includes participation in congregational meetings and other special events.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed, including social media, communications, outreach, childrens.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  

• Excellent public speaking skills. 
• Ability to effectively recruit and lead others.
• Ability to lead the band musically. 
• Knowledge or willingness to learn different types of worship music, including latino / Spanish worship.
• Strong vocal ability and ability to lead with a guitar or keyboard.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Google Workspace, Planning Center and ProPresenter Software.
• Ability to sing (or learn to sing) in English and Spanish. 

 Experience:

• 2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. 

Additional Position Benefits:

• PTO: 3 weeks (45-60 hours) + the week after Christmas.
