The Video Specialist position is perfect for an individual who loves the power of a story and has a genuine heart for ministry in the local church.  This role requires someone who has a passion for telling stories through images and has the ability to take creative concepts from start to finish. Our ideal candidate is highly motivated and willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish goals and projects.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Creates, shoots, and edits spiritually powerful, great-looking video content for Elmbrook ministries
  • Works with the Communications staff and broader Elmbrook staff team and volunteers to accomplish media projects
  • Exhibits servant attitude, humility and patience
  • Communicates openly and with tact
  • Is comfortable working in a fluid, rapidly changing environment
  • Holds ideas loosely and be open to team contribution
  • Captures and catalogs footage from all major events at Elmbrook
  • Prioritizes and manages workload effectively with limited supervision
  • Troubleshoots and problem solves mid-project as necessary
  • Participates in scheduled meetings, contributing in the collaboration and pitching of ideas
  • Participates in the evaluation and critique of video projects, with an emphasis on producing quality work, maintaining best practices and excellence within allotted timelines and resources

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Active participant or member of Elmbrook church who supports and endorses the statement of faith, core values and vision
  • Possess a desire to grow, actively seeking relationship and resources to assist in the continuation of developing their skills and gifts
  • Be skilled in storyboarding and shooting/editing video
  • Possess a minimum of three years of experience and demonstrates the ability to produce high quality content from concept to completion.
  • Be highly organized and have the ability to work well with deadlines
  • Is self-motivated and possesses a strong work ethic
  • Be a team player and function well in a collaborative environment
  • Have artistically creative and innovative ideas
  • Be proficient in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects
  • Possess experience with DSLR cameras and lenses
  • Be competent and versatile in skills and knowledge of video, lighting, and audio technology
  • Develop and leverage volunteer teams and others in skillfully creating great video content

 

Employment Information

This position is full-time, hourly and classified as non-exempt 40 hours/week

Salary – dependent on experience, skills & education

This position is eligible for all benefits associated with full-time employment including medical, dental, vision and life insurance.  Refer to the Staff Handbook and information provided by Elmbrook’s insurance vendors for specific details.

 

Paid Time Off (PTO) – Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO.  PTO is accrued on a calendar year basis.  Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.

 

403b – Employees are eligible to participate in the 403b pension plan if they are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week.  Entry dates for the 403b plan is the first of the month following date of hire.  On an employee’s first anniversary, Elmbrook will match up to 2%.

 

Holidays – Full-time employees are eligible for holiday pay.  There are 10 holidays recognized by Elmbrook Church as paid holidays; refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.

 

Reporting Structure

The Video Specialist will be accountable and report directly to the Communication Director of Elmbrook Church.
