The Teaching and Adult Ministries Pastor assists the Lead Pastor with Sunday teaching and help give leadership to Adult Ministries, to ensure all people in our community have opportunities/spaces to explore and participate in the life of Jesus, as we pursue being a healing presence in the world. This position will serve as a member of the Lead Team to give leadership to DCC.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the church community by embodying the character of one who follows Jesus with faithfulness and humility
- Work with the Lead Team and Lead Pastor to discern, plan, and execute the mission of Denver Community Church
- Develop, plan, communicate, and deliver a variety of opportunities for the DCC community to be formed spiritually
- Establish connection with and provide ongoing learning, teaching, training opportunities, as well as care for the ministries of DCC including: Couples’ Collective, DCC Men, DCC Women, LGBTQ+, and Young Adults
- Nurture the Spiritual Formation of Adults providing supplemental opportunities for spiritual growth by working with our Spiritual Formation Team
- Nurture the Spiritual Formation of children and youth ages 0-18 by managing and investing in the DCC Kids and INC Student Ministry teams
- Management of Youth and Children’s Pastor, with the intention of encouraging professional and personal growth and support of respective ministry areas
- Give diligent and faithful oversight of the Adult Ministries budget
- Teach at Sunday Gatherings up to twelve times per year
- Serve as member of the pastoral care team
- Teach at Sunday Gatherings and other special gatherings (e.g., Ash Wednesday) at least 12 times/year
- Be an active member of the Teaching Team and attend Teaching Team Meetings
- Support Sunday and special Gatherings and perform other sacerdotal functions as necessary
- Lead the community toward a culture of “extended-family”, disciple-making, and shared mission
- Foster a leadership environment of courage, grace, laughter, and vulnerability
- Perform additional duties as assigned by manager
