JOB TITLE: Student (Youth) Ministry Director

  • Classification: Part-time = 20+ hours/week, negotiable and depending on availability and expectations. In addition to Sunday mornings and mid-week Youth Group night, flexible schedule and remote work environment during the week.
  • Salary: up to $2,000 per month (depending on qualifications and time commitment)
  • Reports to: Lead Pastor

OPPORTUNITY

Grace Fellowship of Lakewood CO (GFOL) is a God-focused, Christ-centered, Biblically-rooted, and Spirit-driven church. As an expression of our vision to grow a community of Christ followers who worship and witness in all of life, we are seeking a part-time staff Student (Youth) Ministry Director. The Director’s primary job is to lead and build a fruitful and growing ministry that reaches and makes disciples of students (6th-12th graders) and their families, including those inside and outside our church family.

We are looking for a person who is godly and gifted in leading a Student Ministry that is both solid in (theological) content and modern in approach. This is currently a part-time role, but our vision is to see it grow with the church and as the Lord leads.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL …

  1. Have a personal and growing relationship with God through faith in Christ evidenced by a solid level of spiritual maturity.
  2. Be able to fully embrace GFOL as a church family along with its vision, ministry culture, and core beliefs.
  3. Be a true student of God’s Word who is able to teach the Bible well.
  4. Possess the heart of a pastor and disciple-maker which includes a commitment to do the work of evangelism.
  5. Be passionate about God, Student Ministry, and seeing students and their families grow in faith.
  6. Have good people and communication skills and at least adequate organizational ability.
  7. Possess a commitment to, and track record of, doing ministry as a team.
  8. Be a hard worker but not a workaholic, a self-starter, reliable, trustworthy, and excellent at following
  9. Demonstrate proven leadership ability that takes initiative to achieves results.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Be the point person, provide leadership, and coordinate ongoing programming for the Student (Youth) Ministry at GFOL. This includes making personal contact with people on a regular basis and planning Student Ministry activities, including mid-week youth group meeting, special events, etc.
  2. Recruit, train, shepherd and build a team of volunteer Student Ministry leaders.
  3. Help develop and implement the vision for Student Ministry and do strategic planning in collaboration with the Lead Pastor and other GFOL ministry leaders.
  4. Meet with students, parents, ministry volunteers, and other GFOL leaders (as individuals and in groups) as needed to build relationships, provide care and support, and practice discipleship.
  5. Seek to provide support for other church ministries/activities that may need the partnership of the Student Ministry.
  6. Other ministry-related duties as needed.
