Youth and Children's Ministry
Student Ministry & Student Worship Intern
Role:
Internships at LifePointe are meant to contribute to the ministry of the church, while also providing real ministry experience to help an individual answer the question, “Is God calling me to vocational ministry?”
The Student Ministry & Worship Intern will acquire skills and explore the possibility of a calling to vocational ministry while supporting the Director of Student Ministries and helping to further develop the Student Worship Team.
The Student Ministry & Worship Intern will help LifePointe’s 6-12th grade students continue to grow by teaching, leading discussion groups, building relationships with students & leaders, and helping lead the Student Worship Ministry that serves 1x a month. The Student Ministry & Worship Intern should be gifted and desire to grow in the areas of leadership, musical worship, discipling, teaching, and administration.
The Student Ministry & Worship Intern will work closely with the Student Ministry Director who will assess their giftings, deploy them accordingly, and strive to help encourage their growth in a number of different areas as the Intern seeks to discern if God has gifted them for a similar full-time position in ministry.
Requirements:
- Exemplify the leadership character qualities listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Galatians 5:22-23
- Articulate, demonstrate, and provide references attesting to exploring a potential calling to vocational
ministry
- Commit to the Mission, Core Values, and Vision of LifePointe Church
- Consider LifePointe their “home church” while an intern, and participate as a fully invested member
- Spiritual maturity and wisdom to oversee the growth and development of a Student Worship Team
- Skill and experience in leading worship & in teaching/preaching (preferably with students)
Responsibilities:
- Help the Student Ministry Director develop lesson & discussion questions for Sunday mornings (and teach occasionally)
- Help the Student Ministry Director develop LifeGroup lessons for Sunday nights (and lead occasionally)
- Prepare and lead practice with the Student Worship team 1-2x a month
- Help lead the Student Ministry in worship alongside the Student Worship Team 1x a month
- Lead Middle or High School discussion groups on Sunday mornings (occasionally)
- Learn & help carry out the administrative duties required from a Student Ministry Director
- Attend the majority of Student Ministry events
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal Student Ministry & Worship Intern is someone who desires to explore whether they are called to use their gifting and skills for vocational ministry. While they may lack extensive ministry experience, our internship offers the opportunity to gain experience, grow in giftings, and experience a taste of what full-time ministry would be like. This is a one-year commitment with the possibility of a second year if both parties agree. Our aim is to help develop future leaders to serve God’s Church.
