ABOUT HOPE CITY COMMUNITY CHURCH

Hope City Community Church is a thriving non-denominational congregation in El Paso, TX, averaging 1,100 in weekend attendance — and growing fast enough to have launched a third worship service this year. Driven by a bold vision to reach 40,000 people in El Paso and beyond, Hope City is a church where vision meets vitality.

Their mission is clear: to see the lost found and the found set free. Five core values shape everything they do — reaching the lost through outreach, transforming lives through discipleship, serving others sacrificially, building authentic community, and giving extravagantly. This is a church with real momentum, strong leadership, and a culture marked by joy, courage, and accountability.

ABOUT EL PASO

El Paso is one of the most unique cities in America — a vibrant, multicultural border community consistently ranked among the safest large cities in the nation. The greater Borderplex region connects El Paso with Las Cruces, NM and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, creating a rich and diverse mission field unlike anywhere else in the U.S. Families thrive here thanks to strong schools, tight-knit neighborhoods, and a Fort Bliss military community. Outdoor enthusiasts will love easy access to the Franklin Mountains, and mountain towns like Cloudcroft and Ruidoso just a short drive away.

THE ROLE

Hope City is seeking a Student Ministry Director to shepherd middle and high school students with gospel-centered intentionality, relational warmth, and visionary leadership. This is a builder role — the student ministry is already healthy and established, and the next director will lead it into its next season of growth, depth, and impact.

Responsibilities include leading weekly gatherings, Bible studies, small groups, camps, and outreach; discipling students and equipping parents; recruiting and developing volunteers; shaping curriculum; and creating a clear pathway for students from attending to belonging to becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus.

WHAT HOPE CITY IS LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate embodies three staff-culture distinctives:

  • Character — a life above reproach, grounded in Christ
  • Skill — competence and excellence in ministry and leadership
  • Charge the Hill — courage, drive, and a bias toward action

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree desired; ministry or theological degree preferred
  • 3–5 years of student ministry experience in a local church
  • Strong teaching, communication, and relational skills
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers
  • Experience discipling students and partnering with parents
  • Strategic thinker with organizational strength
  • Spiritually mature with a growing personal walk with Jesus
  • Aligns with Hope City’s beliefs, values, and ministry philosophy
