Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to develop a relational-based Student Ministry with a two-pronged approach – attracting students to explore a relationship with Jesus and guiding students to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus AND create additional opportunities for the employee to grow in understanding and experience in ministry skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

Student Ministry

· Invest in relationships with students and parents

· Direct all Student Ministry programming, including weekly gatherings and occasional events

· Recruit and train volunteers to engage in developing relationships and discipling the students

· Develop outreach opportunities for students to invite their un-churched

· Provide resources to students and parents for spiritual, emotional and mental maturation

Church-Wide Ministry

· Preach 4-6 times per year in Sunday morning church services

· Observe and engage in identified meetings (i.e. Board meetings, Worship Planning meetings, Pastoral Care meetings, Elder meetings, etc.) outside of Student Ministry

· Lead in identified ministry initiatives as schedule allows

· Participate in a personal mentorship with Keith Smith focusing on the role of a Lead Pastor

· Participate in designated meetings

· Complete designated assignments, evaluations and follow-up

· Provide pastoral care to the body of Christ at South Sub Church

Skills

· Effective at multi-tasking, time management and follow-up

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· 3 years of related work experience preferred
