GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB FUNCTION: 

Reporting to the Dean of Student Success, the Student Life Engagement Coordinator serves as a key member of the Student Life team. In collaboration with the vision and strategy set by the Dean of Student Success, this role is responsible for coordinating and executing student life programming and campus events that foster community, engagement, and a sense of belonging among Denver Seminary students. The Student Life Engagement Coordinator manages the day-to-day logistics of campus events, signature programs, and student activities and plays an important role in ensuring that students feel connected and supported throughout their seminary experience.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Plan, coordinate, and execute campus events, including community gatherings, chapel services, intensive weeks, advising coffee sessions, and other signature programs that support student engagement and retention
  2. Manage logistics for New Student Orientation in collaboration with the Dean of Student Success, ensuring a welcoming and well-organized experience for incoming students
  3. Serve as the primary point of contact for event planning requests, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date events calendar for summer and fall programming
  4. Coordinate with the Student Leadership Board (SLB) and student organizations to support event planning and campus activities
  5. Collaborate with campus partners, including the DC Site Coordinator, to extend programming and Student Life priorities to all student populations, with an intentional focus on developing and coordinating Student Life activities and community-building opportunities for online students
  6. Manage event communications, including scheduling, promotion, and publication of event information in coordination with the MarCom team
  7. Assist with New Student Orientation logistics and help integrate new students into the Seminary community
  8. Support Admissions Preview Days by coordinating student panel logistics and campus experience elements
  9. Maintain vendor relationships, event budgets, and logistical resources necessary for consistent and high-quality programming
  10. Participate in institutional committees and staff meetings assigned by the Dean of Student Success

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING/SKILLS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a field related to the functions of this position preferred; minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in event coordination, student life, or a related field

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A committed personal relationship with Jesus Christ is required, and a lifestyle consistent with the Seminary’s Community Values and Behavioral Commitments.
  • Agreement with Denver Seminary’s Statement of Faith and Statement on Human Sexuality.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, student-centered approach
  • Experience in event planning, coordination, or campus programming
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse student populations
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience working within budgets and organizational structures
  • Proficiency in standard office and communications tools

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Normal office working conditions, including computer usage, may require occasional standing, walking, long periods of sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
