Staff Nurse
Alternatives Pregnancy Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at our medical clinics. The RN will provide patient care and medical services, following professional standards of care and adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics. This position plays a key role in supporting women and men facing pregnancy-related crises, offering life-affirming, holistic care in a Christ-centered environment.
Alternatives Pregnancy Center’s Mission Statement:
Alternatives Pregnancy Center exists to care for Denver-area women and men in pregnancy-related crisis and offer them a meaningful alternative to abortion. Following the example of Christian love, we seek to meet their emotional, physical and spiritual needs. And we enable and encourage them to choose life every day.
We provide a 24-Hour Helpline, pregnancy tests and options counseling, limited ultrasound services, STD testing and treatment, adoption education, pre- and post-natal medical care referrals, financial and legal referrals, counseling after abortion, positive youth development curriculum and sexual risk avoidance education. All services are provided free of charge.
Education and Experience:
- A current Registered Nurse’s License in good standing with the State of Colorado. BSN is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a medical setting.
- Current BLS certification.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care: assess patient needs and make nursing judgments that reflect the knowledge, judgement, and skill required to complete the job/task undertaken.
- Maintain a working knowledge of nursing methods, principles and practices in relation to the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, safety and infection control, clinical systems, supplies and equipment.
- Educate patients using Alternatives evidenced-based STD educational materials and to follow appropriate guidelines from NIFLA, Care Net, Heartbeat International, and the State of Colorado.
- Accurately and efficiently chart STD patients using charting database.
- Accurate implementation of Medical Director’s Standing Orders.
- Proficient performing urine testing, blood testing, and pelvic exams following national guidelines.
Ultrasound Services (if applicable):
· Able to perform a limited OB first trimester scans obtaining accurate fetal heart rate, gestational sac measurements, fetal pole/embryo/fetus measurements, CRL. Able to identify anatomical structures including cervix, vaginal canal, and adnexa.
· Able to perform a limited OB second/third trimester scans obtaining accurate BPDs, FL, and fetal HR.
· Provide ultrasound scans to patients in any of Alternatives Clinics as directed.
· Complete all required medical forms pertaining to the ultrasound appointment and ultrasound report.
· Accurately documents patient scans in charting database system
· Maintain the cleanliness of ultrasound equipment and clinics.
· Communicate closely with the Director of Client Operations and Nurse Manager as needed regarding client care.
· Maintain confidentiality in all patient situations and circumstances.
· Provide Fetal Development education following NIFLA model.
Personal Development:
· Maintain professional license.
· Maintain active CPR certification.
· Increase knowledge of management, obstetric and gynecologic care, as well as women’s health and pro-life issues.
