Job Title: Senior Pastor Reports to: The Elders of Grace Baptist Church Position Status: Full-time Job Description: Grace Baptist Church, an independent non-denominational evangelical church located in Milford, Connecticut, is seeking a spirit-led, enthusiastic and qualified candidate to fill the role of Senior Pastor. Therefore, by the empowering of the Holy Spirit, we have committed ourselves to: • Save the Lost – Reaching out to all people with the Good News of Jesus Christ. • Mature the Saved – Providing discipleship for those who have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. • Provide Spiritual Fellowship – Providing activities that promote spiritual growth. Responsibilities: The Senior Pastor at Grace Baptist Church will develop and execute the mission of the church by presiding over all church activities and ministries. This includes: • Preaching the word of God on a regular basis as the teaching pastor • Providing spiritual leadership and pastoral care for the church body and the local community • Meeting regularly with and supervising the leadership of the church: elders, deacons and deaconesses • Supervising part-time staff: Church secretary, youth director, maintenance, church treasurer • Developing a vision and providing support to grow the church body through evangelistic outreach and the development of children’s and family ministries, including weekly bible studies Requirements: The ideal candidate for this position will possess experience in church leadership, preferably 1-3 years in a pastoral role at a similarly sized church. While not required, biblical postsecondary education, including a master’s degree in divinity (M.Div.), is preferred. Compensation: The Senior Pastor role at Grace Baptist Church includes a salary ranging from $50,000 – $70,000, consummate with experience. The position also includes access to a parsonage located in church grounds, full medical benefits and a retirement package. About Grace Baptist Church: Located in suburban Southern Connecticut in between Bridgeport and New Haven, Grace Baptist Church holds two Sunday services to a weekly congregation of 150-200 people. Sunday School, a thriving Wednesday night program, youth group, weekly bible studies and other activities and community events are held on a regular basis. GBC is an elder-led church which practices bible-based expository preaching of reformed theology, with the ultimate mission of proclaiming the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping believers to mature in their faith through worship, fellowship and community. The origins of Grace Baptist Church date back a local house church started in 1921, which evolved to locations on Factory Lane and Bridgeport Avenue in Milford before moving to its current location at 420 Burnt Plains Road. Located on nearly six acres of land, GBC boasts a two-story building with a sanctuary, classrooms, Fellowship Hall and a full kitchen, along with a four-bedroom parsonage, recently constructed youth center, a bonfire area and a large recreational field.
