ROLE DESCRIPTION   
Spiritual Formation Coordinator
This position offices in-person, on campus   
    
ROLE SUMMARY   
As a Christian college-prep high school, Valor’s desire is to create an environment that inspires students to dive into a deep and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. The Spiritual Formation Coordinator is critical to championing this environment for students and the overall Valor community. At the core, this position will foster the spiritual life on campus by working with all aspects of the school community. The Spiritual Formation Coordinator will also be primarily responsible for coordinating the weekly chapel programming, which we see as the spiritual inflection point for the school. The ideal candidate will be an implementer, able to effectively carry out a range of activities while also being able to foster deep, meaningful relationships with students. In addition to accomplishing these outcomes, the Spiritual Formation Coordinator can be called upon to serve in a faculty role, supporting students further by teaching Bible in the classroom.

Coordinate Spiritual Activities on Campus for Students   
  • Facilitate the alignment of the various spiritual activities on campus under a cohesive and intentional vision that advances the student outcomes   
  • Coordinate Valor’s weekly chapel services by making sure all team members understand and execute their respective roles   
  • Work with a range of Valor team members to nurture and advance the spiritual climate on campus including the Bible department, Discovery, athletics, arts, and the Campus Pastor   
  • Identify and cultivate areas for students to have a deeper understanding and appreciation for Kingdom Unity and Diversity   
  • Serve as a member of the Bible teaching staff and provide instruction for up to two Bible classes per semester   
    
Support Vibrant and Thriving Spiritual Opportunities for the Broader Valor Community   
  • Partner with the Valor Parent Association to provide necessary resources to assist with the spiritual development needs of Valor Parents   
  • Partner with the leaders of moms’ and dads’ Bible studies to synchronize content from Chapel and our Bible curriculum   
  • Engage area churches to identify opportunities for Valor families to get involved in the local church   
  • Partner with the Campus Pastor in efforts for community prayer and spiritual formation of faculty and staff   
  • Support the work of creating the Valor Grandparent Bible study programming   
  • Coordinate periodic worship events for the Valor community   
  • Partner with the Alumni Coordinator for spiritual formation opportunities for Valor alumni   
Serve in Faculty Role As-Needed
  • Possess a Commitment to Biblical Instruction
  • Implore meaningful instructional techniques and texture to engage a variety of learning styles and promote critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and innovation
  • Provide a learning environment and classroom management style built upon mutual respect and conducive to student learning
  • Understand the curriculum of a wide range of Bible courses 
  • Collaborate with the Bible team to develop and deliver consistent assessments and sound instruction
Serve Wholeheartedly as an Exceptional Teammate

RESULTS   
Ultimately, the results of this role have eternal significance. Our desire is to continue to see the spiritual culture of campus enriched and thriving. Our hope is to see students come to a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the grace of Jesus Christ and this role helps facilitate that through effectively engaging all aspects of the Valor community. In the classroom, students will have the opportunity to experience God’s love and know that God has a plan and purpose for their life through the Spiritual Formation Coordinator’s instruction. The successful candidate balances these responsibilities while cultivating authentic opportunities to engage in Christian mentorship with students.   
    
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES   
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline; Master’s degree from a seminary preferable   
  • Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding
  • Desire to teach and/or experience teaching within Christian education preferred
  • Superior administrative and customer service skills that demonstrate exceptional care for people and details   
  • Strong critical thinking skills, ability to problem solve, quick learner and intentional relationship builder   
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative   
  • Efficient work pace, manage multiple tasks, and oversee systems and processes   
  • Adept in utilizing collaborative software such as Microsoft Office or Google Drive.   
  • Strong communication skills in written and verbal form   
    
PHYSICAL DEMANDS   
The same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. Employees must periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and could occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT   
The work environment characteristics are varied and include classroom, office, and outdoor events while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is also varied.
   
POSITION TYPE: C: Year-round schedule – 12 month calendar. This position offices in-person, on campus   
HOURS PER WEEK: Full-time, exempt

PAY RANGE: $55,000-$65,000
