Rural Church Planter
The Barnabas Conference is looking for a bi-vocational Deacon or Priest to plant an Anglican Church in rural Colorado.
Rural Colorado has an averaged churched population of less than 10 percent.
We take a very slow approach to church planting focusing on stability and sustainability. The towns we are looking at have an average population of 1000. Our Circuit Riders organize missional stations to then be handed off to a Church Planter. We have seen 2 churches planted through this model in the last 5 years. It takes time and we ask that if you consider this job you need to plan on a spending more than a decade at the work and even then you will never have a large church.
We are resident in the Diocese of the Rocky Mountains and any clergy interested will need to transfer into our Diocese for local and practical encouragement.
The areas right now with Mission Stations that we are looking to fill with a Church Planter in Eastern Colorado are: Deer Trail, Limon, Simla, Hugo.
We also have a number of towns in Western Colorado: Dinosaur, Meeker, Rangely, Craig, McCoy, Yampa, and Phippsburg, and Oak Creek.
