Shelter on the Lake Guesthouse ministry is offering seasonal Internship positions on a volunteer ministry team in Patagonia, Argentina. Study online at your University while serving the Lord! Every summer (Nov-April), tens of thousands of international backpackers travel through the rugged regions of Patagonia seeking adventure. Our guesthouse is strategically located on a lake at the trail-heads and within walking distance of world class rock climbing. Interns live in a large non-profit guesthouse in an intentional Christian community. Interns live a Spirit lead life together which is a loving witness to our guests of the power of the gospel.

Interns should exhibit a humble Christ-like maturity and attitude, flexibility, an adventurous spirit, hospitality, and a desire to share the gospel. The job of an Intern is not extremely structured due to the nature of your work. We expect self initiative on your part, and anyone who enjoys working in a controlled environment will probably have difficulty serving here. You must be able to work well in teams and enjoy meeting strangers.

A typical day involves Bible study, cleaning, cooking and work projects with other interns and guests. Most interns find it very easy to climb 3-4 days a week while also enjoying water sports in the warm afternoon summer days. As time allows you will be hiking into the Andes where you’ll meet people from many different nations. The guesthouse is not a business and doesn’t advertise, so we rely on invitation and word of mouth to bring guests.

This is not a paid position, it is volunteer ministry work/living. You must pay your own way to Argentina and for your own food. You will be able to raise support through Shelter on the Lake’s agency. Lodging is provided, you will be living in the Shelter on the Lake guesthouse.

This is an ideal internship ministry position for anyone looking for a gap semester/year, someone needing ministry experience, or a recent graduate looking to travel with purpose.
