Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Preschool Lead Teacher to lead a classroom of 4 & 5 year old children. The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, maintaining classroom management, supervising assistant teachers, and ensuring compliance with Colorado licensing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Colorado Early Learning & Development Guidelines
• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Conduct ongoing observations and developmental assessments
• Maintain daily communication with families
• Supervise and support assistant teachers
• Ensure compliance with all Colorado health, safety, and licensing requirements
• Foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate learning practice
• Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
• Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
• Ability to lead and collaborate with assistant teachers and parents
• Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and respond calmly in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Must meet Colorado Lead Teacher qualifications through the Colorado Department of Early Childhood
• Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) certification or equivalent coursework required
• Minimum 1-2 years of preschool classroom experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day

Salary & Benefits

• Part-Time (8:30 am-3:30 pm Monday through Thursday)
• Salary range: $18-22/hour
