Pastor/Director of Children’s Ministry
The Pastor/Director of Children’s Ministry at BridgeWater Church is responsible for providing leadership, development, and direction for the children’s ministry (birth – 6th grade). This includes overseeing the volunteer team, developing programs that align with the vision, mission, and strategy of the church, and fostering an engaging environment for children’s spiritual growth.
Location: BridgeWater Church (Fairfield Township, Ohio)
Anticipated Salary Range: $45,000 – $55,000 (with benefits package)
Key Responsibilities
Oversee Children’s Ministry: Lead, develop, and manage all aspects of children’s ministry, including Sunday services, summer programming, and special events (e.g., Vacation Bible School, family gatherings).
Curriculum Development & Implementation: Select and implement a Biblical curriculum that fosters spiritual development. Experience with Orange Curriculum is a plus.
Create Engaging Environments: Design and execute environments and activities that encourage spiritual growth and learning, tailoring them to be age-appropriate and engaging.
Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and lead volunteers, ensuring they are equipped and inspired to serve effectively.
Pastoral Care: Provide care and spiritual guidance to children and their families, including hospital visits, follow-ups, and ongoing support.
Outreach & Assimilation: Develop strategies to reach new children and families, helping them integrate into the church community.
Special Event Management: Plan and oversee events such as Vacation Bible School, family gatherings, and summer camp support to enhance the ministry’s reach.
Additional Ministry Support: Assist with broader church ministries as assigned by the Lead Pastor, such as pastoral care, preaching, or tech/media responsibilities.

Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage both children and adults.
Qualifications
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree or seminary experience in ministry, education, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience: At least 3 years of ministry experience working with children or students, including leadership of paid or volunteer ministry staff (10+ volunteers). Experience in managing and directing children’s programs is essential.
Leadership Qualifications: Must meet Biblical qualifications for church leadership, demonstrating integrity, humility, and spiritual maturity.
