Associate and Assistant Pastors
York Bible Church (YBC) is seeking a full-time pastor to join the church body and leadership team in
reaching the unchurched in our community and bringing them to the knowledge of God’s great love,
mercy, and grace.
York Bible Church is an elder-led evangelical church located in southern Maine. Our purpose, “To
glorify God in all things,” and our mission, “To know God and make Him known,” are key drivers for
our personal practices and our corporate priorities. Our congregation has an active culture of serving.
We seek to glorify God as disciples of Christ inspired by the Holy Spirit and engaged in the Great
Commission. As Christ reveals His character in us, we want to make His love and compassion
evident to the world.
The church is led by an elder board, and the pastor serves as an elder. The active ministries of the
church are men, women, and children’s ministries; small groups; discipleship/mentoring programs,
and outreach ministries.
Requirements
● Has a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies or related field, MDiv preferred.
● Has a minimum 5 years of experience as an associate or lead pastor.
● Knows and defends the Bible as the inerrant Word of God and source of wisdom and seeks
out its spiritual nourishment, guidance, and correction daily.
● Desires to continually develop an ever-deepening personal relationship with God and
others.
● Follows the leading of the Spirit to prepare and deliver messages that are clear and apply
the wisdom of the Word to daily living.
● Agrees with and abides by the York Bible Church Statement of Faith.
● Collaborates with York Bible Church’s plurality of leadership, serving alongside other elders
to steward the church as a servant leader.
Job Responsibilities
● Submits to Christ, is an example of Godly living, and provides spiritual leadership to the
church through personal and corporate prayer and the ministry of God’s Word.
● Works to develop an annual ministry plan to fulfill the mission and vision of the church,
equipping the church body for ministry and encouraging ministry activities.
● Serves the church body and the community with sincere love and the compassion of Christ.
● Takes bold steps to advance the cause of Christ, engaging with the local York
community to build relationships, to grow outreach programs, and to share the gospel.
