Open Door Ministries exists to provide practical help and hope to people in urban Denver who are homeless or low income. Our primary objective is to move people toward self-sufficiency by helping change the circumstances and life patterns that have held them captive to poverty and addictions. Title of Position Te Veo House Care Coordinator

 

Supervisor:  Te Veo House Director

Hours: Part Time (20hrs/week)

Salary: $17.82/hr. – $32.63/hr.

Start Date: January 1, 2024

Required Meeting Attendance:

  • Church Attendance: Attend Open Door Fellowship or Westside Church Internacional church service
  • Open Door Ministries staff meetings (one meeting and one training/month)
  • Weekly SWH meeting
  • Weekly PMT meeting

 

 

Job Purpose

To assist in the directing of Te Veo House, a short-term transitional house for women seeking assistance in leaving homelessness who are experiencing issues such as past trauma, mental health problems, and/or addictions.  To support the Director with the daily functions of maintaining the house and program.  This will include building relationships, house upkeep, and other administrative duties as needed. To be a servant leader in the house.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Meet with each assigned resident weekly for case management, to review goals and progress, track productive hours, and to provide feedback, encouragement & mentoring. Involved in this is coordinating with outside support persons (counselors, probation officers, etc…) for the benefit of the resident and her program.
  • Assist Te Veo House Director in management of daily routine of the house, including but not limited to; medication monitoring, random drug testing, evening meals, keeping resident records up to date, and looking out for and protecting the spiritual, emotional, and physical health of the residents, staff, volunteers, and interns.
  • Assist Te Veo House Director in management of weekly & monthly routines in the house, including but not limited to; facilitating weekly house meetings, delegating cooking/chores/house maintenance to residents, and donation management.
  • Model responsible standards regarding work, dating, other relationships, finances, and personal conduct
  • Manage and facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution
  • Assist House Director with monthly ministry reports, statistics and outcomes, and performing various administrative duties as needed
  • Assist in the selection process of new residents, including interviews, calling referrals, and running background checks
  • Assist in overseeing and recruiting volunteers and interns, leading in a way that helps them grow and utilize the gifts God has given them.
  • Inter-personal problems should be handled according to Matthew 18. Ministry problems should be talked through with the staff, and then brought to the ODM Program Director if no resolution can be obtained.
  • The person hired for this position will be expected to work some weekends and be on a rotation with other staff to work holidays

 

Qualifications

 

  • Ability to facilitate individual and group house groups, trainings, mentoring sessions, and Bible studies.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office
  • Previous residential experience a plus
  • Training in trauma, addiction and/or mental health issues preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands

 

  • Work environment is indoors with some outside activity
  • This job involves sitting, standing, walking and climbing stairs
  • This job involves moving up to 10 pounds
