Position Title: Part-time Church Admin Assistant

Status: Part-Time (16 hours per week to start)
Reports To: Church Administrator

Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant supports the daily functions of the church office, communication and administrative efforts. This role helps ensure that information is shared clearly and effectively within the congregation and community, assists with events and ministry support, and contributes to an organized and welcoming office environment.

Position is onsite, Monday and Thursday.

Primary Responsibilities:

Office & Reception

Answer phones, greet visitors, and respond to general inquiries by phone and email.

Maintain office supply inventory and reorder as needed.

Order supplies for events or church functions.

Support general office functions to ensure smooth daily operations.

Communications & Publications

Prepare weekly bulletin announcements
Create informational materials in Canva.
Update calendar with meeting and event information.
Assist with drafting and posting updates to church social media platforms.
Coordinate communication between staff, ministry leaders, and congregation as needed.

 

Event & Ministry Support

Provide administrative and logistical support for church events and programs as needed.
Funeral and event assistance.
Assist Student Ministry and NextGen Director with communication, scheduling, and general administrative support.

Planning Center Administration

Maintain and update church data, schedules, and communication through the Planning Center app.

Provide support and training for staff and volunteers using the platform.

Qualifications:

Agreement with and commitment to the church’s Doctrinal Statement.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to take direction, and to work with diverse persons, including volunteers.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

Experience with CanvaMailchimp, or similar e-news and design platforms.

Experience with church database systems (e.g., Planning Center) preferred.

Positive, flexible team member with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse population of members, guests, and volunteers.

Prior church office or administrative experience preferred.

Professional references required and must be able to pass a background check.

Work Schedule:

Part-time, two eight-hour days; preferably Monday and Thursday. Some flexibility may be needed for occasional events or ministry support.

Compensation:

$22 – $24 per hour depending upon qualifications and experience.
