Job description
At Bear Valley Church (BVC) in Lakewood, CO, our mission is to lead people to know, love, and follow Jesus. Our vision is to be a transformed community serving to bless and influence our neighbors and the world with the Gospel. To continue moving toward this mission and vision, we are looking to hire our next part-time Worship Director.
The Next Gen Worship Director will play a key role in nurturing a dynamic and
Christ-centered worship culture at Bear Valley Church. Working closely with
the Worship Pastor and Student Pastor, this role emphasizes pastoral leadership, intentional team collaboration, and a commitment to raising up the next generation of
worship leaders. With a solid foundation in both musical excellence and worship ministry, this leader will have the skills to guide and equip team members in worship practices, encouraging their development both musically and spiritually. The role requires strong vocal and instrumental abilities, along with experience in worship planning and familiarity with Ableton and ProPresenter.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Collaborative service planning
- Team building and preparation
- Technical and AV support
- Worship leadership – Youth services on Sunday nights and Optional on Sunday Mornings if interested
- Team development and discipleship
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Musical training with strong vocal abilities and proficiency in at least one instrument.
- Experience with worship service planning tools including Ableton, ProPresenter and Planning Center.
- A pastoral heart for mentorship and discipleship, with experience nurturing teams.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, fostering a cohesive team environment.
- A self-starter that has a continued pursuit of excellence without being told what to do
- Be teachable and a listener that is open-minded to learning how things are done differently
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- A mature relationship with Jesus Christ that is clear and evident
- 1-3 years of Worship Ministry experience (volunteer or vocational)
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, computer, social media, and strategy-building skills
- Preferred Experience with worship service planning tools including Ableton, ProPresenter and Planning Center, but can be taught as well!
- A people person who has a genuine love for others and a desire to serve them
- A strong team player and collaborator
