Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, joyful, and dedicated Middle School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive and enriching learning experience for our students, while also integrating our Christian faith and values into everything they teach. If you love teaching children religion, history, science, in a Christian setting and want to share this passion with students in our K-8 program, then this is the place for you!
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field-required
- Valid Teaching Certification/license-required
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in a middle school setting
- LCMS trained-preferred
Job Description: Essential functions and responsibilities would be teaching middle school students in 6th-8th. Creating, implementing, and fostering a positive faith-based learning environment by facilitating and delivering science, history, and religion education instruction. Our goal is to provide an excellent education that is traditional, faith-based, rigorous, enriching, and fun!
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and incorporate Christian principles.
- Possess a strong knowledge of content area, teaching methods, learning styles, and educational research related to middle school students in grades 6th-8th grade.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the scope and the sequence of a middle school teacher and science and history curriculum.
- Possess a clear and effective pedagogy that embodies the belief that instruction must be engaging, relevant, rigorous, and provide real world opportunities for scholars to live out their learning.
- Ability to align curriculum and assessments with state curriculum content standards.
- Ability to maintain strong classroom management and hold students accountable for upholding school rules, and classroom expectations.
- Ability to develop and foster positive relationships with students, families, and co-workers.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills through collaborative work with students, parents, teachers, and administration.
- Establish procedures and rules to maintain order and effective classroom management
- Maintain accurate and complete student performance records, providing constructive feedback to students and assess their progress regularly.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Effectively communicate and possess strong oral and written skills that works with all audiences
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school community
