Alternative Homes for Youth (AHFY), a residential treatment center in Greeley, Colorado, serving adolescent males ages 15-20 involved in the juvenile justice system, has an immediate opening for a Full-Time (40 hours/week) Mental Health Therapist position. Core responsibilities of this role include: managing a caseload of approximately 7 clients (including providing individual and family therapy and attending staffings), co-leading therapy groups, and attending weekly clinical meetings and supervision with after hours on-call rotation with other members of the clinical team.

Our mission is to provide adolescent males with a “sanctuary for transformation,” helping them achieve mental and emotional wellness, create lasting behavioral change, and develop a sense of empowerment to make positive choices and create their own healthy futures. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a client population with a variety of clinical issues, including trauma histories, sexual behavior problems, substance abuse, conduct issues, and other psychological and emotional struggles.

Salary:

$55,000 – $70,000

HOW TO APPLY

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in psychology, social work, or other behavioral health discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Licensed (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist) or provisionally licensed/license-eligible. New and expected-May 2024 graduates are welcome to apply.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized training and experience in working with adolescents, particularly youth with trauma histories
  • Residential treatment center experience
  • Strong writing abilities and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Certified Addiction Specialist
  • SOMB Full-Operating Level or Associate Level Treatment Provider, and/or experience in working with youth who have sexually offended
  • Experience/training in family therapy
