Description:

Position Summary:

Provides leadership, support, education, and resources to male volunteers as they serve male clients impacted by their partners unplanned pregnancy. Trained as a male client advocate to provide direct male client support and possible parenting support – all in a faith-based environment.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field, including Counseling, psychology, social work, human services, pastoral ministry, theology, biblical studies, leadership, or youth services.
  • Vocational or volunteer experience in church or parachurch ministries.
  • Experience in vulnerable populations and/or crisis counseling.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a related field, including theology, biblical studies, divinity, business, leadership, psychology/counseling, or social work.
  • Ability to speak Spanish fluently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Counseling:

  • Counsel clients as needed.
  • Provide ongoing support for male clients as needed.
  • Act as an advocate with other agencies to which clients are referred.
  • Answer Helpline calls and schedule appointments during office hours.
  • Exemplify excellence taught through The Alternatives Approach.
  • Case management Follow up with clients to provide ongoing care and support.
  • Oversee the maintenance of client records on CenterPoint/eKyros.
  • Coordinate with the Client Services Director to communicate with volunteers regarding updated policy and procedure changes.
  • Coordinate with the Client Services Director to schedule volunteers to meet the needs of clients.

We provide a 24-Hour Helpline, pregnancy tests and options counseling, limited ultrasound services, STD testing and treatment, adoption education, pre- and post-natal medical care referrals, financial and legal referrals, counseling after abortion, positive youth development curriculum and sexual risk avoidance education. All services are provided free of charge.
