Marketing & Development Specialist

Job Summary

Christian World Outreach (CWO) is seeking an experienced, creative and detail-oriented Marketing and Development Specialist to join the CWO team. This role is ideal for a marketing and development professional able to coordinate all marketing and development efforts with professional communications, creative ideas and completing tasks on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong Christian faith with a strong work ethic based on integrity and excellence while being passionate about sharing CWO’s mission and goals. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and executing marketing campaigns, managing digital platforms, and supporting fundraising initiatives.

Marketing Duties

  • Understand and be able to communicate clearly the different CWO ministries.
  • Create and implement comprehensive written marketing strategies aligned with organizational objectives, including digital marketing, email campaigns and social media management.
  • Maintain relationships with donors, ministry leaders and volunteers through effective communication and use of fundraising systems and applications.
  • Create engaging content for the website using WordPress and manage email marketing campaigns via Constant Contact.
  • Seek out new opportunities for fundraising and donor engagement for follow up by President and board.
  • Create all social media activities, including event promotions and fundraising campaigns.
  • Write and create weekly prayer email in Constant Contact.
  • Create and edit monthly ministry emails.
  • Create monthly donor mailing marketing pieces.
  • Manage video library and Vimeo account.

Development Duties

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee fundraising events and campaigns with input and execution by President and board.
  • Chair the volunteer Event Committee.
  • Research grant opportunities which match the current CWO ministries.
  • Create the current grant contact communications.
  • Write all grant requests and reports.
  • Manage grant calendar.
  • Update donor database software with grant notes and follow through on all ticklers.
  •  Created donor communications.
  • Provide input and marketing materials for President and board to engage new donors, fundraise with organizations and build business partnerships.

Required Work Skills 

  • At least five years’ experience in a marketing and/or development capacity, or five years’ experience working with a nonprofit or ministry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong editing skills.
  • Ability to oversee and manage event planning tasks.
  • Proven volunteer coordination skills.
  • Exceptional grant writing skills.
  • Strong organization and project management ability.
  • Creative social media writing skills.
  • Creative graphics creation ability.
  • Ability to work effectively with international staff.
