POSITION SUMMARY
The Kids Ministry Coordinator at Cherry Hills Community Church provides vital support across the entire Cherry Hills Kids department, helping create excellent, safe, and spiritually engaging environments for children from birth through 5th grade. This role assists with classroom readiness, volunteer coordination, administrative systems, and ministry logistics for weekend services and special events. The coordinator works closely with the Kids Ministry Directors and volunteers to ensure smooth operations, strong communication, and consistent support across all age groups. By managing key behind-the-scenes details and stepping in where needed, this role plays an important part in helping kids and families feel welcomed, cared for, and connected to the mission of CHCC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with weekend services by preparing classrooms, managing check-in systems, and serving as a relational presence to families, volunteers, and children.
- Step in to lead classrooms as needed across Kids Ministry—providing safe, welcoming, and spiritually supportive environments when volunteer gaps arise.
- Coordinate lesson preparation across Kids Ministry classrooms, where and as needed – including organizing teaching materials, gathering supplies, and assisting with age-appropriate curriculum implementation.
- Support the planning and execution of Kids Ministry logistics, including Sunday services, seasonal events, and special programs; help maintain room order, event materials, and supply readiness.
- Oversee secure and efficient check-in/check-out procedures and assist with classroom transitions during weekend and midweek ministry.
- Provide administrative support by managing email and phone communication, scheduling meetings, organizing calendars, routing inquiries, and preparing ministry documentation as needed.
- Support volunteer coordination by helping recruit, onboard, and schedule volunteers; assist with background checks, training documentation, and Sunday morning huddles; maintain volunteer contact lists, records, and compliance tracking.
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with volunteers through ongoing communication, follow-up, and occasional recognition efforts that reinforce unity and service culture.
- Collaborate with the Kids Ministry team to identify relevant teaching topics, support curriculum distribution, and enhance program alignment across classrooms.
- Maintain accurate attendance, volunteer, and safety compliance records using church systems; proactively prepare reports and updates as requested.
- Assist in creating and scheduling content for Cherry Hills Kids social media accounts, ensuring brand consistency and alignment with CHCC’s communication standards; monitor basic activity and partner with the Communications Team as needed.
- Track and maintain inventory of ministry supplies and classroom resources; organize storage areas and place reorders to ensure consistent readiness.
- Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and training events that support team unity, communication, and alignment with CHCC’s mission and values.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Enrollment in or completion of a college program related to education, management, or a similar field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a church, educational, or recreational setting is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of child development principles and practices
QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); able to utilize standard tools for documentation, communication, and task coordination.
- Demonstrate proficiency with common office technologies, including email, printers/copiers, shared drives, and organizational software platforms; able to troubleshoot basic issues and learn new tools quickly.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and working under pressure.
- Available for evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
- Must be located in commutable distance to Highlands Ranch, Colorado, United States
- Must pass a CHCC background check.
