The Foundation is a blend of Donor Advised Funds and Operating Projects which gives us the privilege of encouraging the charitable vision of others through sponsorships of over 1,000 operating projects in 130 countries and 48 states. We partner with nonprofits, old and new, large, and small; and grant money to organizations helping those in greatest need. We uniquely combine the functions of a community foundation, fiscal sponsorship, and traditional nonprofit to expand our impact.

Position

Reporting to the IT Project Manager, the Information Systems Specialist in-office position manages the day-to-day operations, configuration changes, development, and general administration of our software systems, cybersecurity initiatives, web hosting, and technology infrastructure. This involves troubleshooting problems encountered by staff and implementing solutions which requires daily personal interactions utilizing relational and communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff. This position will assist the IT Project Manager with investigations, analysis, design, and development of system solutions, planning system rollouts for users and staff, writing procedures, documenting systems, training and development of staff in new or changed solutions, and miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • First line of support to staff for information systems problems or new function requests.
  • Troubleshooting reported issues and overseeing solutions through to completion.
  • Analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing configurations and workflow automation for web-based system content, functions, and user interface. This involves extensive collaboration with staff.
  • Create business intelligence reports and dashboards for executives, staff, and constituent needs.
  • Develop SQL queries of databases for BI reports and optionally utilize REST APIs for integrations.
  • Create and manage tickets to software vendors, analyze solutions, managing tickets from initiation to completion, testing system changes, and regular meetings with vendor representatives and developers.
  • Provide technical support for development projects, such as data ETL, (extract, transform, load), business process analysis, design, and documentation, low level coding/scripting of workflow automations, implement API calls, and champion system solutions to staff.
  • Analyze, create, review, and write operating procedures for staff as it relates to system functions.
  • Provide training on information systems in groups and one-on-one.
  • Oversee and implement cybersecurity training, security configurations, and password management.
  • Provide system administration such as account management, domains, DNS entries, cPanel functions, multi-factor authentication, and related configurations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or four years of applicable education and experience)
  • Strong communication skills; written, verbal, and giving presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as applied to business processes.
  • High technical aptitude and innovation for applying modern technical tools to business needs.
  • Strong team player and relational skills with the ability to translate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical people, and vice versa.
  • Experience with programming and database concepts, scripts, and languages such as SQL.
  • Experience administering web-based systems, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, cPanel, DNS is preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, including management of multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
