GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB FUNCTION:

 In this role, you will:

  • Drive Kingdom Funding: Research, write, and secure grants that directly impact theological education and ministry preparation
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate meaningful relationships with foundations who value faith-based education and transformational leadership
  • Maximize Impact: Ensure every dollar secured advances our mission of preparing leaders for joyful service in God’s work of reconciliation
  • Tell Compelling Stories: Craft proposals that showcase how Denver Seminary is shaping the next generation of Christian leaders across 50+ denominations

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Strategic Grant Development

  • Research foundation opportunities aligned with Denver Seminary’s programs and priorities
  • Manage the complete grant lifecycle from identification through reporting
  • Partner with leadership to build relationships with key foundation contacts
  • Maintain grant tracking systems and ensure compliance with all requirements

 

Expert Communication

  • Write compelling, mission-driven grant proposals and reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather project details and budget information
  • Ensure all communications reflect Denver Seminary’s voice and values
  • Coordinate acknowledgements and stewardship of major grant awards

 

Partnership & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the VP of Advancement, President’s Office, and program leaders
  • Support advancement team goals and participate in strategic planning
  • Attend foundation events to strengthen cultivation and stewardship efforts.

 

WHAT YOU BRING

 

Professional Excellence

  • 2-3 years minimum of grant writing experience with demonstrated success
  • Higher education or faith-based nonprofit experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
  • Experience with foundation research databases and grant management tools

  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to compliance, deadlines, and funder requirements

  • Collaborate effectively with Finance on budget adherence and expenditure tracking
  • Stay current with foundation trends and giving priorities
