Community Church of Hendersonville (CCH) is seeking an experienced Family Pastor to develop and lead a cohesive ministry initiative integrating the Family ministry with oversite of the Student and Kid’s Ministry helping position Community Church to strengthen families and advance the Gospel throughout our community. They must have a theology of Family Ministry foundationally centered on the Word of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit. CCH is an inter-denominational church community of 400-600 attendees, which has served the Hendersonville area for over 30 years. We welcome the ideal candidate to our close-knit community of diverse denominational backgrounds.

THE POSITION

We are looking for an experienced Family Pastor to develop a clear vision and strategy for Marriage and Family Ministries at CCH that aligns with the overall mission and vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The ability to develop and implement whole-family discipleship by providing oversight and
support to CCH Students and Kids ministry leadership and volunteers.
Provide staff support and oversight of CCH Men’s and CCH Women’s directors.
Establish and oversee a ministry that equips and cares for marriages within CCH.
Serve on the preaching team at CCH.
Create clear policies and procedures for safety and security within the kid’s ministry.
Will oversee the Director of Community Kids’ Club (two-day a weekday school).
Maintain professional confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS

Maintain a vibrant, contagious personal relationship with God and submission to the Lordship of
Jesus Christ and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.
Maintain a vibrant, healthy relationship with your spouse and children (if applicable) through
integrity, commitment, and a balanced lifestyle.
Agreement to the vision, goals, and statements of CCH faith/belief.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
Meets Biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership.
Passion to lead and love volunteers and CCH families.
Strong communicator (written, verbal, interpersonal) who is passionate about sharing the vision of
CCH families in the church, people in the community, and volunteers.
Demonstrates humility in every aspect of life and leadership.
Team player and team builder who focuses on the good of the entire organization.
Be a model for those who attend CCH by being an example of integrity, discipleship, and
evangelism.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree
Five to Seven years of experience

KNOWLEDGE

Applicable Biblical Knowledge – Present the Gospel using relevant topics and lessons in an engaging
manner, applying Biblical truth and values to an ever-changing world. Lead kids to Christ and know
how to develop disciples both within and beyond the church.
Digital Communication – Connect with kids and parents by utilizing appropriate digital platforms and
resources.
Equipping leaders – Leading/equipping/empowering volunteers in an urgent “call to action” on behalf
of the program. Constant development of self and the program.

Teamwork – The ability to build cohesive teams within the organization; cultivate an effective work
atmosphere and collaborate with others; consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings,
and capabilities of different situations; relate well with others; maintain confidentiality; demonstrate
consistency and fairness; compassionate, sensitive and respectful.
Relational – Energetic and full of fresh, exciting ideas. Connects with kids through their creativity,
humor, storytelling and mutual love for Christ. Know the names of kids and parents, invest in their
interests, and engage with them beyond church activities.
Leadership – Set the tone of the ministry. Family Pastor is to inspire confidence, motivate, encourage,
build enthusiasm and anchor the ministry with their obvious love for God and His people.
Communicate clearly, take responsibility for mistakes, and respect the diversity of your colleagues.
Communicator – Communicate with families, students, kids and colleagues by using effective vehicles
to deliver a clear unified message. Speaks engaging/relevant/clear messages. Asks questions and
actively listens to others, continuously learning and seeking to understand and improve.
