JOB DESCRIPTION
Personal Discipleship
- Must be committed to growing in your walk with Christ.
- Have a day of rest (no church work) one day a week.
- Meet with God each day to personally worship, pray and be in Scripture.
- Invest in healthy relationships with family and friends.
- Commit to a discipleship/mentoring relationship in which you are challenged to grow in your walk with Christ and your work in His Church.
Responsibilities
- Curate and edit curriculum to fit the needs of Trinity classrooms for preK-5th grade.
- Work with Youth and Family Pastor to create and execute the Family ministry vision.
- Recruit, train, coordinate, engage, and encourage all children’s ministry volunteers.
- Coordinate volunteer teams to ensure that Sunday morning classes are appropriately volunteered while ensuring volunteers are not overworked.
- Make and manage all story props, response activities, and free-time activities for children’s classes.
- Set up all curriculum on Sunday mornings so that teachers can jump into the lesson each week with ease.
- Facilitate regular training to ensure culture and safety standards are communicated and agreed to by all volunteers.
- Provide a safe and fun learning environment for toddlers and babies with the core goal of them learning that Church is a place they enjoy and feel loved at.
- Volunteer support via 1:1 check in meetings, regular check ins on Sunday mornings after class, and open line of communication for questions or concerns about classrooms.
- Have a positive and professional relationship with parents, being able to answer questions about kids ministry programming, curriculum particulars, and philosophy.
- Manage details of events for children or family as needed in partnership with Family Pastor. This primarily includes buying and prepping supplies, making event pages or flyers, leading activities during events, set up and tear down of events.
- Work with the staff team in preparing resources and opportunities for parents to experience and grow in skill as the spiritual heroes of their children.
- Help the broader staff team with all set-up, tear-down, and preparations for Sunday morning worship.
- Create and facilitate a non-Sunday morning children’s ministry program that fits the vision of Trinity (ex. VBS, AWANA, ect.)
- Develop and facilitate seasonal children’s curriculum and activities. This would include programming for Easter, Advent, Lent, ect.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
- Minimum Qualification:
○ Commitment to Anglican Distinctives and Trinity’s mission, vision, and core values ○ 2 years children’s ministry experience
○ 2 years volunteer recruitment and development
- Preferred Qualifications:
○ Background in childhood development or education
○ Confirmed in the Anglican Church
○ Ordained in the ACNA, or willing to pursue ordination
COMPENSATION
- Hours: Part-Time, 20-25 hours per week, $25-35 per hour (depending on experience)
