Position is temporary through December 31, 2025. The Seminary will evaluate the need for the position’s permanence throughout the two-year timeframe.

 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB FUNCTION:

Coordinate and execute a wide range of events that contribute to the overall success and positive image of Denver Seminary, particularly as related to the Seminary’s 75th anniversary and the transition to a new president. This role requires a creative and detail-oriented individual who can conceptualize, plan, and execute events that align with the Seminary’s goals, values, and brand.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Event conceptualization and planning:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless communication throughout process.
  • Develop and implement creative and professional concepts that align with the goals of Denver Seminary’s 75th anniversary, the presidential transition, and a variety of events.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs and objectives.

Logistics and coordination:

  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual requirements, and transportation and lodging as needed.
  • Work closely with internal team members and external vendors to ensure seamless execution of events.

Budget management:

  • Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors to maximize resources and achieve budgetary goals.

Communication and marketing support:

  • Collaborate with the communications and marketing teams, event hosts, and other related stakeholders to create promotional materials and strategies to increase event visibility.
  • Support implementation of promotional materials.

Stakeholder engagement:

  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of events and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Provide detailed event reports, including key performance indicators and areas for enhancement.
  • Support follow up communication for lead generation, donor relations, etc.

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience in project and event management or related field is required. 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Developed interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible decision-making skills; able to deal with dynamic situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong detail orientation is required.
  • Knowledge of marketing and communications related to project and event execution.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills are required. Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Graphic design skills a plus.

  • Agreement with Denver Seminary’s statement of faith.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: 

The physical demands of this role encompass both typical office working conditions and active event management responsibilities. While office work may involve long periods of sitting and computer usage, event preparation and on-site management includes being on one’s feet for extended periods and overseeing and supporting event setup and coordination. The role may entail standing, walking, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed. Additionally, the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds is necessary to handle equipment, materials, and logistical tasks effectively.
