Paraclete Services Mission Statement: 

As part of WorldVenture, the Paraclete Services team provides holistic member care to global workers and their children to encourage, support, equip, restore, and advocate for their sustainability in ministry. 

 

Position Summary: 

The Director serves as WorldVenture’s lead spokesperson for member care and oversees Paraclete Services. This role leads and develops the team, establishes and communicates member care standards and best practices, and collaborates with leaders and global workers to support the emotional, spiritual, and relational health needed for sustainable ministry. 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, supervise, and develop the Paraclete Services team. 
  • Advise, collaborate, and support VP of Global Initiatives, Global Directors, and field teams on member care matters. 
  • Consult with personnel who support appointees and global workers. 
  • Provide consultation to global workers for coaching, debriefing, and personal development. 
  • Lead and collaborate in the development of regional member care strategies and initiatives. 
  • Participate in appointee interviews and deployment clearance processes. 
  • Develop policies and procedures related to mental health crises and critical incidents affecting global workers. 
  • Advocate across departments for the care and well-being of global workers. 
  • Participate in global conferences, training events, seminars, counseling, and debriefs. 
  • Collaborate with Training, HR, and Global Mentoring leaders to strengthen holistic care and development across the organization. 
  • Support Paraclete staff in their ministries of licensed counseling, pastoral counseling, spiritual directing, TCK care, educational coaching, and life coaching ministries. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with external subject matter experts for consultation services. 

 

Administrative: 

  • Lead planning for Home Assignment Debrief events in partnership with key stakeholders. 
  • Assign member care responsibilities across Paraclete Services staff. 
  • Prepare and manage the annual department budget. 
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance for clinical and member care practices, including oversight of the EHR platform. 
  • Maintain licensing, documentation, and ethical standards in accordance with ACA and HIPAA requirements. 
  • Maintain the working relationship and MOU between WorldVenture and StuMo. 

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Ability to apply biblical and theological understanding in practical ministry settings. 
  • Broad understanding of member care disciplines and their integration within a missions organization. 
  • Cross-cultural ministry experience outside North America. 
  • Ability to address difficult situations with sound judgment and follow-through. 
  • Strong organizational, delegation, and project management skills. 
  • Ability to make timely, data-informed decisions. 
  • Initiative, creativity, and flexibility in the management of work responsibilities and team leadership. 
  • Conflict management and strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, related applications, and video conferencing tools.

  • Demonstrated personal relationship with God and commitment to global ministry. 
  • Christian character aligned with WorldVenture’s values. 
  • Affirmation of the WorldVenture Doctrinal Statement, Code of Conduct Policy, Human Sexuality Policy, and Child Safety Policy.   
  • Strong commitment to WorldVenture’s mission and ministries. 
  • Demonstrated calling and gifting in member care.

Education or Formal Training: 

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in counseling or marriage and family therapy. 
  • Licensed or license-eligible clinical mental health professional (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or LP) in Colorado. 
  • Minimum of five years of counseling experience. 

 

Work Environment/Physical Activities: 

  • Office-based work 
  • Domestic and international travel as needed for conferences, training, and crisis response. 
  • Remote workers must travel to Colorado 5–8 times per year for headquarters leadership gatherings and worker events.
