Director of Client Services
Position Classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
Provides options counseling to clients of Alternatives Pregnancy Center. Trains, supervises, evaluates, and encourages the in-office volunteers. Directs and oversees the services provided to clients. Monitors and oversees client record-keeping and statistics. Effectively promoting the organization through increased visibility among target audiences and community building to create client-focused outreach efforts. Part of a larger client services team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for direct supervision of in-office volunteers.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in related field including Psychology or Social Work.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Counseling or Social Work
- Experience with vulnerable populations and/or crisis counseling
- Ability to speak Spanish

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Counseling:
- Counsel clients as needed.
- Provide on-going counseling for clients.
- Follow-up with clients.
- Act as Client Advocate with other agencies to which clients are referred.
- Answer Helpline calls during office hours.
- On-Call for Helpline weekend every 10 weeks or less frequently, as needed.
- Exemplify excellence taught through The Alternatives Approach.
- Case management of clients’ needs.
- Oversee the maintenance of client records.
- Supervision of all matters pertaining to clients and Client Advocates in the Downtown Denver Office.
- Coordinate volunteer Client Advocate schedules for the Downtown Denver Office.
Ultrasound Program:
- Communicate regularly with Clinic Director and RDMS in conjunction with CSDs team to coordinate medical processes, forms, clinic flow, volunteer training, and client communication.
- Provide input into Ultrasound services provided to clients.
- Communicate with Sonographer and Nurse Manager to set dates for ultrasounds at the Downtown Denver office.
STD/STI Program:
- Working with other Directors, schedule and contact potential clients before appointment.
- Communication with medical staff should on-going counseling be needed.
- Provide necessary additional counseling to patient and follow up if needed.
Supervision:
- Attend one-hour of individual supervision with LPC – 2 times per month.
- Attend 90-minute group supervision with LPC – 2 times per month.
Volunteer Training and Supervision:
- Conduct individual Client Advocates and Client Services Volunteers in on-the-job training.
- Conduct, in collaboration with other CSDs, one of the three annual volunteer in-service trainings.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules weekly in conjunction with office hours.
- Supervise all client interaction by reviewing each volunteer’s notes from client interactions and ongoing client communications utilizing The Alternatives Approach frame-work.
- Initiate prayer with staff and volunteers at the beginning of each counseling shift.
- Maintain volunteer relations through positive and regular communication.
- Evaluate each volunteer’s skills and abilities at least once a year using Alternatives’ Approach Fundamentals as framework for client interactions.
- Communicate regularly with the Client Services Team concerning client issues, volunteer training issues, general information exchanges, scheduling, and client services, etc.
Administration:
- Keep volunteers updated on community resources through monthly emails and updates.
- Track volunteers’ house to be reported to the Executive Director’s statistics spreadsheet monthly.
- Communicate regularly with the Client Services Team concerning client issues, volunteer training issues and scheduling.
- Case management of client needs.
- Oversee the maintenance of client records.
- Supervision of all matters pertaining to clients and Client Advocates in the Downtown Denver Office.
- Attend monthly Client Services Directors meetings.
- Coordinate volunteer schedules.
- Implement and adhere to Alternatives’ Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain stock of client resources in the office.
- Handle in-office calls relating to clients, social services, or community resources.
- Open, sort and respond to client services mail and email.
Community Relations:
- Develop targeted community awareness efforts, including proactive identification of opportunities with other agencies and organizations in local proximity to the office.
- In conjunction with other staff members, attend and represent Alternatives at community meetings that enhance the ministry to our clients.
- Attend and represent Alternatives at mission or community fairs, annual fundraising events, Life Series events and various outreach opportunities.

Following the example of Christian love, we seek to meet their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. And we enable and encourage them to choose life every day.
We provide a 24-Hour Helpline, pregnancy tests and options counseling, limited ultrasound services, STD testing and treatment, adoption education, pre- and post-natal medical care referrals, financial and legal referrals, counseling after abortion, positive youth development curriculum and sexual risk avoidance education. All services are provided free of charge.

Pay: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour
