Development Officer

Type: Full-time | Ministry | Global Missions
ABOUT UNREACHED
Unreached exists to bring the Gospel to the most spiritually neglected regions on earth by training and sending indigenous pastors to plant 50,000 churches across Asia by 2030. These leaders are boldly taking the Good News where Western missionaries cannot go. This includes locations like into remote villages, restricted regions, and unreached people groups where the name of Jesus has never been heard.
Now launching a new season of growth in the U.S., we are building the development and marketing foundation needed to fuel this bold vision.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As Development Officer, you will inspire, invite, and steward the generosity of U.S. partners who want to see the Great Commission fulfilled among the unreached. You will also help design and execute creative donor and church engagement strategies through events, proposals, and field experiences that bring our mission to life.
This is a start-up environment, which means every team member is expected to be flexible, entrepreneurial, and willing to do what is necessary to grow the ministry. It is a highly relational and creative role, ideal for someone who loves engaging with donors, telling compelling stories, and casting vision for Kingdom impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and grow relationships with donors, churches, and ministry partners.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of mid-level and major donors, moving them toward deeper engagement and greater generosity.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals tailored to churches, donors, and foundations.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage donor cultivation events, church engagement gatherings, and fundraising campaigns (in-person and virtual).
- Represent Unreached at churches, ministry gatherings, and donor events.
- Support acquisition of new monthly donors through events, presentations, and personal follow-up.
- Lead donor vision trips to the field, helping partners see firsthand the impact of their investment.
- Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistent donor messaging, storytelling, and impact reporting.
- Help design donor journeys and appreciation experiences that deepen connection.
- Track activity and progress using Virtuous CRM.
- Partner with the CEO to cultivate and steward key foundation and church relationships.
- Embrace the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup ministry, contributing wherever needed to help the organization grow.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are a faith-driven, relational leader who finds joy in connecting people to eternal impact. You bring both creativity and discipline to your work, building new systems while personally engaging donors and churches.
You might be a great fit if you:
- Have 5+ years of nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or ministry partnership experience.
- Are confident engaging churches, pastors, and individual donors.
- Have proven experience in planning and executing donor or church-related events.
- Are skilled at preparing and delivering written and in-person proposals.
- Can communicate the vision of global missions clearly and compellingly.
- Have experience cultivating major gifts and/or building monthly donor programs.
- Understand or are eager to learn donor CRM systems (experience with Virtuous is a plus).
- Thrive in both one-on-one conversations and group presentations.
- Are willing to travel domestically and internationally (including to Asia) for donor vision trips.
- Are energized by bold goals and thrive in a startup ministry culture where flexibility and teamwork are essential.
THE KINGDOM IMPACT
Entire regions of the world remain untouched by the Gospel. But indigenous leaders are ready to go if we can train and send them. Your work will directly help release resources that equip thousands of pastors to plant churches and bring Jesus to those who have never heard His name.
This is your invitation to help reach the unreached.
