THE ROLE
How’s your hat collection? As head of operations, you’ll wear many! The Deputy Director serves as the operational leader of the organization and a key partner to the Executive Director. This role is responsible for overseeing the internal systems that keep Providence Network running—including human resources, finance, compliance, property management, and organizational operations. This is a high-capacity, high-responsibility role requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. In a nutshell… you’re the glue.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
STAFF CARE & CULTURE
● Promote shared values and behaviors
● Foster connectedness
● Celebrate staff accomplishments and milestones
● Plan and execute monthly ML (Ministry Leaders) meetings and annual Staff Retreat
● Support healthy work/life balance
ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP & OPERATIONS
● “Own” the internal operations so E.D. can be externally-focused
(fundraising, public relations, partnerships)
● Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team
● Attend weekly management team meetings
● Oversee day-to-day operations and identify operational gaps
● Ensure organizational compliance
HUMAN RESOURCES & STAFF SYSTEMS
● Lead all HR functions including recruitment and performance management
● Ensure compliance with State & Federal employment guidelines and reporting requirements
● Oversee CO FAMLI, Workers’ Comp, and benefits
● Maintain Employee Handbook and all employee related policies
● Direct annual review and goal setting process
FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
● Oversee financial operations and budgeting for $2.5M organization
● Process payroll and ensure compliance with Labor & Employment laws
● Supervise Office Administrator/Bookkeeper
● Participate in monthly Board Finance Committee meetings
● Direct annual Budget preparation and approval
● Oversee annual Audit
PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
● Lead operations and compliance for 5 properties:repairs, maintenance and capital Improvements
● Oversee property and liability insurance
● Manage vendors and service providers at properties
NEXTSTEP HOUSING PROGRAM
● Oversee all landlord-tenant compliance, ensuring adherence to Fair Housing laws, CHFA requirements, and applicable Colorado and local housing regulations
● Manage lease administration and rent operations, including lease compliance, rent structures, annual increases, and enforcement actions such as notices and demands
● Partner with legal counsel to navigate complex housing matters, including regulatory changes, disputes, and eviction processes

SEASONED PROFESSIONAL
● 7-10 yrs experience in leadership roles involving such areas as Human Resources,
Finance, Organizational Development and/or Property Management
● Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal skills
● Wide range of personal and professional experiences to inform solid decision-making
● Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks
● Creative problem-solver with fresh perspectives and innovative solutions
● Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate conflict resolution
● Proven ability to work efficiently with flexibility, good humor and little supervision
● Highly organized and operates with excellence in mind
● Strong operational and HR knowledge
● Nonprofit Organization experience preferred
HOURS
● 40 hours/week (open to discussing with qualified applicants)
● Some flexibility with work schedule and location
SALARY
● $85,000–$95,000 salary range, commensurate with experience
