Description:
Dean of Students – Female
This position offices in-person, on campus.
ROLE SUMMARY
In preparing tomorrow’s leaders to transform the world for Christ, the Female Dean of Students skillfully incorporates mentorship, discipline, encouragement, accountability, and responsibility in her relationships with the young women in Valor’s student body. In partnership with committed parents, faculty and staff, this role provides basic social and emotional guidance and support for Valor’s female students in alignment with Valor culture. By establishing rich relationships with our female students, the Dean will be an advocate for a vibrant school-wide culture and, as needed, thoughtfully lead our female students and their families in restorative Christian discipline and conflict resolution. Individually, the female Dean of Students will shepherd a class of young women throughout all four years of their high school experience. As a team, the Deans are “culture keepers” by protecting Valor’s vision, mission, and values and seeking to maintain a Christ-centered focus and flourishing student culture.
The Dean of Students partners with parents in the growth and development of their student. To be successful, this partnership must be built upon trust and a strong biblical foundation in Christ. As a school, we strive to the best of our ability, to foster an environment whereby students feel safe and secure and are able to live out Valor’s mission in a “vibrant Christ-centered environment that empowers students to discover their passions and to develop their unique gifts and abilities while growing in wisdom, knowledge, leadership, faith and service”. The Dean of Students is vitally important in helping to cultivate such an environment.
Valor Christian High School is a decidedly Christian, college preparatory school whose core values honor a biblical foundation. Valor employees are faith-filled, joyful believers, who are active in a local, Christian church whose beliefs are in alignment with the school’s Statement of Beliefs. They are both called and committed to the school’s vision and mission and seamlessly integrate faith into their daily work. You will be most successful if you have a true servant’s heart, a teachable spirit, a love for the Lord Jesus Christ, and a commitment to the school’s beliefs and values.
