Description:
Seeking a “Servant First” Curate for St. Andrew’s Church
St. Andrew’s Church is now accepting applications for a three-year, full-time curacy (averaging 45-50 hours per week) designed for a prospective presbyter seeking comprehensive formation for parish ministry.
This position is built on a “Servant First” philosophy; we believe that while skills can be taught, a humble willingness to serve is a work of the Holy Spirit. Our Curate will be expected to shepherd the body through both high-level liturgical leadership and the humble tasks of daily church life—from preaching across our three campuses to assisting with nursery care or event logistics
Key Development Areas:
  • Sacramental & Liturgical Leadership: You will lead worship in traditional and contemporary contexts, conduct weddings and funerals, and participate in baptisms.
  • Teaching & Preaching: You will receive close preaching mentorship (including recorded critiques), teach in Alpha and Confirmation programs, and produce an original theological course for The Ridley Institute.
  • Pastoral Care & Governance: Training includes hospital visitations, Life Group oversight, and the “things you don’t learn in seminary,” such as shadowing every major department head and participating in Vestry and financial oversight.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Completion of a seminary degree (MA or MDiv). Current seminarians in their final year are encouraged to apply.
  • Full agreement with the Jerusalem Declaration as a faithful summary of biblical teaching.
  • A clear desire for ordination as a presbyter in the Anglican Church in North America.
  • A confident self-starter with high emotional intelligence and a demonstrated commitment to evangelism and discipleship.
