Forge’s Creative Writer & Communications Editor advances the mission and message of Forge through all possible written communications, resulting in increasing awareness of as well as engagement and partnership with Forge. This includes writing and publishing, working on Forge designed communication pieces, developing Forge email marketing communications, and coordinating content publishing, writing, and special projects with the Forge team—all to advance the heart-cry of Jesus for more Laborers to be raised up among all spheres of society worldwide, and ultimately to see more of His Kingdom come among all the nations.

Role Responsibilities (Includes but not limited to the following):

  • Present at Weekly Staff Meeting (via video)
  • Writing & Publishing
    • Assists in drafting written content including but not limited to emails, texts, website copy, blog posts, newsletters, devotionals, video scripts, grants, book descriptions, other creative writing projects, providing to Senior Writer for review.
    • Writing with creativity, punch, and within the Forge “voice” for varying book or writing projects.
    • Proofs and edits Forge written content to ensure alignment with the Forge Communications Calendar and Style Guide.
    • Tracks and coordinates the Forge book publishing process, working with the Senior Writer for all necessary approvals.
  • Email Marketing & Engagement of Forge Subscribers
    • Develops and maintains ongoing calendar of email communications, planning for strategic timing of ministry communications and ensuring leadership approval.
    • Drafts and compiles email marketing campaigns to increase and encourage high open and click through rates so Forge subscribers are creatively engaged in ministry opportunities and giving campaigns.
    • Coordinates all pieces of email communication for effectiveness, including: subject lines, preview lines, photos, graphics, links, use of GIFs and other media.
    • Ensures all email communications are properly reviewed and approved by leadership before scheduling / sending.
    • Reviews email communication results and reporting on a weekly basis to inform ongoing strategy.
    • Prepares and submits email communication reports, growth, and returns to leadership on a monthly basis and as requested.
  • Content Coordination & Forge Team Connections
    • Coordinates and gathers digital content for distribution across Forge communications, marketing, email, and social media including: testimonies, event reports, devotional content, photos, videos, newsletters.
    • Provides editing and SEO support for Forge blogs as requested.
    • Looks ahead on upcoming Forge events and seasonal calendars to advance-plan relevant content at the appropriate times, connecting with supervisor for approval and Forge team to develop or get content.
    • Supports the Forge team as needed for large events like Deep Camp, Forge Fest, Life on Purpose.
  • Design and Creative Project Needs Coordination
    • Coordinates relationships, resources, and assets for Forge outsourced designers.
    • Ensures outsourced designers have all the information, photos, copy, and vision needed to successfully bring designs to completion.
    • Facilitates communication between outsourced designers and the Forge team for all design needs and revisions.
    • Produces and designs creative project needs as required / appropriate for projects not within the scope of outsourced designers.
    • Researches and recruits additional outsourced designers as needed and directed by leadership, working with supervisor for approvals.
