GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB FUNCTION: 

Collaborate with and support the Chaplaincy/Pastoral Care program faculty in providing an exceptional student learning experience through administrative oversight of the CPE process and the Chaplaincy/Pastoral Care programs.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

 

  • Provide administrative leadership for the seminary’s master’s level and certificate programs in chaplaincy and pastoral care (see above).
    • Recruit, onboard, and support adjunct faculty
    • Collaborate with the Registrar’s office on course scheduling, academic catalog, and degree worksheet revisions, and other administrative tasks prescribed by the Dean.
    • Collaborate with the Provost, Academic Dean of the School of Theology, and full-time program faculty regarding DS CPEP and other internship issues, policies, processes, and resources to oversee the DS CPEP. Promote Denver Seminary’s community-based CPE program to prospective and current students.
    • Monitor placement and enroll students in CPE units/classes.
    • Manage all ACPE accreditation and certification matters of the DS CPEP to keep the Center in good standing.
    • Communicate with CPE site mentors.
    • Create and run a unit of CPE as Denver Seminary courses CHP775 and/or CHP650 in both Fall and Spring terms.

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • MDiv or at least 72 hrs. of seminary level education; terminal degree preferred.
  • Meet eligibility requirements for Denver Seminary adjunct faculty.
  • ACPE Certified or Level II Educator in good standing.
  • Direct experience with ACPE Accreditation and Certification requirements and processes

The CPE Center and Chaplaincy/Pastoral Care Program Administrator contributes to the fulfillment of Denver Seminary’s Charter and Mission through the clear and compelling integration of Resurrection-shaped hope and character into the CPE experience and the Chaplaincy/Pastoral Care programs.

  • Well-supported, pastoral experience for CHP/PCC students and instructors
  • Collaborative relationships and strong relationships between CHP/PCC instructors and other seminary employees
  • Maintenance of good standing for the DS CPEP program with ACPE
  • Efficient and synchronized program management systems in conjunction with the Office of Academic Affairs]

 

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Normal office working conditions, including computer usage, may require occasional standing, walking, long periods of sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
