Salary/Range: 10,000
Location
Rural Colorado
Description:

The Barnabas Conference is looking for bi-vocational servant hearted guys/gals to serve as a Circuit Rider in a number of specific areas in Colorado.

The Barnabas Conference is not a denomination but an orthodox Protestant and Wesleyan network of Churches, Circuit Riders, Pastors, and other individuals in the Methodist, Wesleyan, or Anglican traditions.

We are looking for someone with a seminary degree or working through a seminary degree. Although experience will also be looked at. We are open to many Christian traditions but we do require the Circuit Rider to be a member of a denominational pipeline or structure outside of the Barnabas Conference in a Wesleyan or historic and orthodox Protestant tradition. Good examples are Goble Methodist, Free Methodist, Church of the Nazarene, the Wesleyan Church, or the Anglican Church of North America. If you are not a part of one of these traditions but are willing to make the transition the Barnabas Conference can help facilitate that transfer or transition.

Our Circuit Riders take 1 to 5 towns or communities in rural Colorado and began to minister to those areas. Sharing the gospel, raising up bible studies, and organizing missions to be eventually taken over by a Church planter.

Our program includes a 1-year residency(can be remote on Zoom) training in practical ministry, sacramental worship, and missional theology. Meetings would be once a week for an hour and a half. During this time the Barnabas Conference would begin to fund raise a small salary for the Circuit Rider and working with the future Circuit Rider to find a mother Church to adopt the Circuit Rider and Circuit.

The Barnabas Conference has 3 Circuits in need of a Circuit Rider…

The San Luis Valley Circuit in the San Luis.

This areas is growing and with the mainline Protestant Church closes rapidly the need for Churches is staggering. This is one of the poorest areas in Colorado. Having the ability to speak Spanish would be a great help here.

Elbert Circuit

This one may be difficult with the cost of living being so high. This area is on the fringe of Suburbia. It makes up Elizabeth, Kiowa, and Elbert. This area is growing and the number of churches is decreasing.

Arkansas River Circuit

Highway 50 going east out of Pueblo all the way to the Kansas border. There is a desperate need of setting up this Circuit. There are over 50,000 people that live east of Pueblo and churches are closing ridiculously fast.

The Barnabas Conference also has Circuits that need to be split up or need help with a second Circuit Rider.

The Eastern Circuit

This Circuit is growing rapidly and in need of breaking off into a second circuit. This circuit makes up a large area of Eastern Colorado with over 25 towns that are in need of a stop in the Circuit. Most of the towns in Eastern Colorado have a churched population of less than ten percent. That number should be shocking.

The Northwest Circuit

This Circuit is manned but in need of splitting up the circuit or adding a Circuit Rider to the Circuit. The towns of Meeker, Rifle, Rangely, Dinosaur, Maybell, and a bible study at Mesa University in Grand Junction make up this Circuit.
