Church Administrator
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Church Administrator to support the ministry of our church. This person will play a vital role in the business affairs of the church, including overseeing office operations, church communications, facilities management, and maintaining church records. A key responsibility of this role is to provide leadership and direction for volunteers, ensuring that the church’s ministries functions run smoothly and efficiently. Prior experience with a church or other non-profit is helpful. This is a full-time position (34 hours per week) reporting to the lead pastor. Compensation includes $25.00 per hour plus benefits.
Skills and Qualifications
⦁ Aligns with the beliefs and values of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
⦁ One to three years of prior office administration and management experience required.
⦁ Proficient in accounting principles and practices
⦁ Excellent attention to detail and precision in account reconciliation and report generation
⦁ Ability to provide supportive direction to volunteers while maintaining a healthy and creative working environment.
⦁ Proven organizational, time management and planning skills.
⦁ Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 software and applications.
⦁ Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
⦁ Proven record-keeping skills.
⦁ Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
⦁ Self-motivated and able to function with minimal supervision.
⦁ Previous experience working in a church or non-profit environment helpful but not required
Duties and Responsibilities
⦁ Church office operations & facilities management
⦁ Manages all general church office functions.
⦁ Develops, prepares, and maintains reports and documents as needed.
⦁ Maintains inventory of campus supplies.
⦁ Organizes and attends weekly staff meetings.
⦁ Maintains the online calendar and event requests.
⦁ Manages the contracts of the church, maintenance and facilities.
⦁ Responsible for the church key registry and works in conjunction with the Lead Pastor for campus access and security.
⦁ Schedules maintenance and repairs for the building and grounds in coordination with the Property Team
⦁ Obtain bids, select, and oversees any work required by a contractor and approves for payment in coordination with the Property Team & Senior Pastor
⦁ Coordinate Volunteers
⦁ Assess the needs of the church and actively recruit and equip volunteers to fill those roles
⦁ Coordinate special services and church events.
⦁ Support the volunteers to ensure they have a rewarding and positive experience.
⦁ Responsible for church communications
⦁ Preparation and publishing of church communications.
⦁ Maintains and oversees the CLC website and social media.
⦁ Maintains appropriate confidentiality in support of pastoral care.
