Mountainview Kid’s Ministry Director

Mountainview Christian Church is a staff-led, elder-protected, non-denominational church with a Christian Church foundation.  We major on the majors and minor on the minors—aligning everything we do with clear Biblical truth and a heart of connecting people to the life-changing hope of Jesus.  We want to be a family of disciples, connecting into community, building one-another up in Christ, and reaching our community and world with the gospel of Jesus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ministry Leader
  • Oversee the safety and development of the ministries from birth through 5^th
  • Recruit, train, and equip staff and volunteer leaders and teams to assist in various aspects of the children’s ministry. Providing leadership, guidance, and support to volunteers to ensure effective teamwork.
  • Oversee the scheduling of volunteers.
  • Designing and implementing biblically sound curricula for the appropriate age level. Ensuring that bible lessons and activities are relevant, engaging, and aligned with the church’s values and teachings.
  • Implementing and enforcing child safety and protection policies to ensure a secure environment for all children participating in ministry activities.
  • Ensure the regular communication with parents or guardians to keep them informed about upcoming events, curriculum, ministry direction, etc., building trust and parent engagement with the discipleship of their kids.
  • Engaging with the local community to reach out to children and families outside the church, inviting them to participate in ministry activities and events.
  • Work with Student Ministry Director to connect and hand-off students
  • Staff Member
  • Work collaboratively and supportively with the Mountainview staff and leaders
  • Manage the budget and resources allocated to the children’s ministry. Ensuring effective use of resources to achieve ministry objectives.
  • Meet regularly with your direct report for ministry development and goal setting
  • Attend required staff meetings and large church gatherings/meetings.
  • Pursue growth in professional leadership skill development
• Spiritual Leader
  • Have an active and growing relationship with Jesus
  • Be a positive and Christ-like role model for the children and the ministry team, exemplifying a strong and authentic faith.
  • As the Mountainview Kid’s Ministry Director, you are a vital leader in our church, organizing and ensuring the safety and spiritual development of our most precious gift and trust our church is given. As a key leader of Mountainview, you are committed to aligning and supporting the theology, mission, vision, and values set by the elders of Mountainview—both privately and publicly.
• Hours: 25-30 hours/week. Hours worked will be tracked and turned in for payroll.  In the rare occasions that ministry week will cause the hours to exceed 30 hours, approval will be needed by your direct report.

• Be committed to collaboration and feedback—both receiving and giving—in constructive ways to the teams you participate in, and staff.
• Come under the direction, leadership, and supervision of the Lead Pastor—for open, collaborative communication, as well as goal setting and reviews.
• Committed to being aligned and living out the requirements in the Employee Handbook.

All compensation will be set by the elders of Mountainview and reviewed on an annual basis before the new fiscal budget year.
