Synopsis of Role
|
The Children’s Ministry Coordinator helps oversee the setup, operation, and teardown of our Children’s Ministry, serving children from birth through elementary age. Working closely with the Lead Pastor, this role is responsible for recruiting, training, and leading volunteers, preparing classrooms, and creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for kids and families. |
Principal Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers for birth through elementary ministries.
• Manage volunteer schedules and communications via Planning Center.
• Prepare and maintain clean, organized classrooms with appropriate curriculum and supplies each week.
• Oversee the setup and teardown of the classrooms each Sunday.
• Support volunteers during services, providing ongoing training and encouragement.
• Welcome new families, connect with parents, and foster positive relationships.
• Coordinate with staff and volunteers on special events.
• Ensure a safe environment by implementing regular cleaning and safety routines.
• Run Background check for new volunteers.
• Improve and update children’s ministry curriculum as needed.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to children’s ministry operations.

• Experience working with children (birth through elementary) and volunteers in a ministry or educational setting.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

• Flexible availability for weekend services, setup, teardown, and special events.
• Proficiency with Planning Center.
• Creativity and flexibility in a rapidly growing church environment
