Children’s Ministry Care Provider
Position
The Children’s Ministry Care Provider at Timnath Presbyterian Church (TPC) will help us dive into our mission by assisting our church volunteers with providing age-appropriate care and discipleship to children 0-12 years of age.
Responsibilities:
● Provide appropriate care for children aged 0-12 years, considering safety at all times
● Read and comply with the TPC Child and Youth Protection Policy
● Be professional. Have a professional appearance. Do not use your cell phone for personal reasons. Be punctual
● Greet children and adults
● Interact with children, other adult volunteers and families, using approved curriculum, Bible stories, prayers, games/activities and snacks
● Take daily Children’s Ministry Program Attendance
● Ensure the emotional, spiritual and educational stimulation of our participants
● Maintain clean spaces, clean surfaces and toys
● Oversee Children’s Ministry supplies. Let the Family Ministries Director know of any supplies needed or any other needs
● Ensure children are picked up by authorized adults/family members
● Communicate any concerns/issues with the Family Ministries Director or member of the Christian Education Team
● Attend annual TPC Child & Youth Protection Training
● Fulfill all other Children’s Ministries duties, including some special Children’s Ministry programs & events
● Report to Family Ministries Director
● Ask for help
● Participate in an annual review
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or GED; some college preferred
● Experience working with children 0-12 years old
● A people person
● Pass a background check
● Two successful professional references
● Must be physically able to perform duties
● CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification is a plus but TPC will provide training if needed
● Commitment to a faith based educational environment
● Love of children and their faith development
Skills:
● Ability to work with children, families and adult volunteers
● Ability to follow simple approved lessons and instructions
● Good listening and communication skills
