As we move into new TNL Kids spaces on Tuesday nights, we are looking for an organized, motivated, and compassionate Children’s Director to lead our Children’s Ministries!

The Children’s Director is responsible for providing vision while directing & managing all aspects of the care and education of children at TNL, including providing leadership to the ongoing operations of TNL Kids; implementation of all content and systems for facilitating childcare, attention to the needs of children, families, volunteers, and teachers; and communication that is clear & gracious to children, families, volunteers, and teachers. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, and hands-on in their approach to overseeing all things TNL Kids at TNL Church. The position may include areas of responsibility in addition to those listed below, as reasonable and appropriate.

1. Care of Children

• Oversight of all aspects regarding care of children at TNL.

• Ensure both classroom & content are conducive to providing an enjoyable & nurturing experience for all

• Maintains systems and procedures for safe check in/out of children (PCO Check-Ins)

• Provides any and all necessary curriculum, supplies, and activities (in conjunction with teachers)

• Is a “floating” fill-in wherever needed on Tuesday nights

• Develops security plan for Tuesday nights (when do kids spaces lock/unlock, security volunteers, etc)

• Develops “move up” plans & procedures for kids advancing through TNL Kids’ Classes

• Plans and executes annual Baby Dedication services (in conjunction with pastors)

2. Direction & Support for Teachers & Volunteers

• Provide any and all necessary oversight & support for Nursery, Primary, and Elementary Teachers

• Recruits, trains, and supervises all teachers & volunteers (including background checks)

• Develops & implements said training program

• Schedules & communicates with volunteers

• Responsible for volunteer appreciation of TNL Kids (notes, events, gifts, etc.)

3. Family Contact & Communication

• Point of contact for families new to TNL Church and/or in need of community care

• Production of ongoing communication with families in newsletters, etc.

• Provides regular point of contact with kids through mailing letters, worksheets, etc.

• Participates in family related events as often as possible to develop relationships with families

The position may include areas of responsibility in addition to those listed below, as reasonable and appropriate.

HOURS

• Tuesday Night Worship Gatherings (3hrs/wk, 5pm – 8pm)

• Management, Planning, and Content Creation (8-10 hrs/wk)

Compensation Range: $1500 – $2000/mo based on experience. Position is eligible for housing allowance.
