Camp Director
The Camp Director is responsible for developing camp curriculum, facilitating and overseeing Homestead Bible Camp programs including supervision, guidance, and direction of camp staff and campers. The Camp Director reports to the Camp Board of Directors.
The successful candidate is motivated, energetic, punctual and a responsible individual who exhibits a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. The candidate must have a positive attitude of being a role model for children, teens, and staff. He/she must possess a keen sense of integrity, an ability to use tact and diplomacy and is able to positively communicate and engage with others; all while ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values of Homestead Bible Camp are fully conveyed.
Mandatory Requirements:
∙ Candidate must be saved and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. He/she must exhibit a desire to reach the lost with the Gospel.
∙ Must have an established home church.
∙ Makes time for daily personal and spiritual growth in the Lord.
∙ Candidate must have a solid grasp on how to lead others to Jesus Christ as their Savior. ∙ Must be a prayer warrior; praying vigilantly for God’s will for HBC, its staff, its campers, and its board members.
Responsibilities:
∙ Attend all board meetings and remain in good communication with the board.
∙ Assist the board with organizing summer camp dates, staff training, and extra-curricular fun for campers and staff. Including the Christmas party.
∙ Oversee the daily physical and spiritual activities of campers and staff. Successful candidate has experience creating age appropriate devotionals and bible lessons for each themed camp week. ∙ Oversee general maintenance and upkeep of the camp; including but not limited to yearly cleanups and basic general building and grounds maintenance before, during, and after camp. Being respectful of neighbors’ property and keeping all areas clear of trash. Purchasing camp supplies as needed. ∙ Candidate must attend Camp fundraising events such as Cajun Boils and must be prepared to share about the camp to prospective donors. To fellowship with those in attendance.
∙ Be ready to communicate with parents regarding all positive and negative activities that may occur. ∙ Successful candidate is willing to attend other churches and events as often as it is practical to outreach to others about the camp.
∙ Director is responsible to recruit new staff and communicate well with the staff. To review the staff training material, revise it as needed, and/or contact outside sources to assist in the training process. Be willing to delegate work to the staff and discipline the staff as needed.
∙ Contact and schedule speakers for the summer camp weeks.
∙ Attend the annual CCCA Conferences to help incorporate new ideas and to receive spiritual growth.
